MY WEEK

Comment Published at 02:1802:1812 comments12 comments54 Visits54 VisitsReport

On Monday morning my husband, son and grandson left at 5-45 am drove to Portsmouth to go across to Cherbourg on the Ferry, their reason for this trip was to go to see the Normandy landings. Thomas is doing this for his GCSE's so we all thought this would be helpful to him. They came back full of their trip and had a great time. After lunch Helen and Daniel came and we had a couple of hours shopping then had dinner together at my home.

Tuesday, I had a very quiet day as  Helen had planned to take Daniel to London Zoo and so I didn't see them until 9pm when Helen returned to collect Thomas. They all came into the house almost together so the place was buzzing Daniel trying to tell all about the Zoo and the others piping in about their trip to France, I gathered they all had a lovely day.

Yesterday we had relatives here for the day and of course they wanted to see the boys so Helen and the boys came after lunch.Talk about rain ,it teemed really heavy the whole day so we were so glad the boys set up the Wii and entertained us all the afternoon with the games and we laughed as Helen beat them with the hula hoop twisting and turning like a spinning top, I bet she is suffering today !!!!!!! Another good game they love is the 10 pin bowling and the boys are good at it, but the laughter comes when we older ones attempt it especially me. My co ordination, sorry what co-ordination !!!!!!!!!!!Daniel has the patience of Job trying to teach ME lol. As a teenager I was a gymnast but age does take over in time.

Love to you all

Pauline

Re: MY WEEK

No Janice it wasn't a re-enactment more of a trip around the area to see the interesting places of where it took place and the many cemeteries etc. Whatever they did they really enjoyed it

The relatives was my husband's sister and her husband, they try to visit us twice a year, her husband is a very interesting character, and talks in a real Devonshire accent, by the way we didn't have roast beef and Yorkshire pudding, instead we had various cold meats, salad and new potatoes, and Apple pie cream, and ice cream for desert.

Lots of love Pauline

Re: MY WEEK

What an adventure seeing the Normandy Landings was it a re-inactment? Sounds like everyone had stories to tell of their day out.

The relatives that came were they dining on Roast Beef & Yorkshire Pudding also, was I  running to late to meet them, oh darn!

Yeah age has a funny way of letting us know that we are not as agile as we once were, yuck!  The rain didn't dampen the enjoyment you all had.

Lots of Love Janice

Re: MY WEEK

ten pin bowling played on the Wii  and hula hoop looks like i will have to invest in one.

When they first came out a couple of years back they had a demo at our shopping complex. but the queue was too long, so i didnt hang around to try any of the games.

wow sounds like the family has been busy. To think hubby and i went to France (it was a tour) and didnt get England.

oh well it will have to be next time. our youngest went 2 years ago and he will be there in september for 4 weeks then its off to Germany for him

wow you were a gymnast Pauline. Now there is something you could write about in the group about your achievements

love annie

Re: MY WEEK

Thanks Annie I never achieved it in the gym as I wanted to be a gym teacher but there was no way my parents could afford to let me go to college and I  had to leave school and get a job.

I did receive my colours for netball, There what an achievement !!!!!! I was 15 yrs old and really excited about it too, As a young schoolgirl I was double jointed and love gymnastics and all sport, still do but prefer to watch it now lol We do have lots of fun with our Wii though

Love Pauline
