Hi All,
Well what a fortnight. Christmas, New yea, School Holidays, stomach bugs and tantrums from the Ex. it's all happened. Now it's back to the everyday.
We've had my kids (Christian and Charlotte) for the past two and a bit weeks. We all had a great Christmas. We celebrate my family's Christmas on the 24th of Dec inline with our Danish tradition. The plan was to have the kids back with their mum on Christmas eve. However for various reasons, she couldn't be bothered to have them for Christmas day
, (which suited us), but dissapointed the kids a bit. I should point out that Christian doesn't respect his mother very much, and Charlotte (has some for of interlectual dissability which I am strill battling to get diagnosed), well, she just wanted to get home to open her presents. So we had them Christmas day which ws great. Spoilt as usual they were. Wonder what happened to the old Tin Soldier and Doll??????
Boxingday we took them to vist their nan and Pop (Ex's side), as they missed out on seeing them the day before. well didn't that open a can of worms. But they certainly enjoyed their hour or so with them
.
On the Thrusday we organised a couple of sleep-overs. Charlotte had two of her girlfriends stay over and Christian went next door ti his friend to spend the night.
New Years Eve we let them go with their mother and Andie and I went with friends to the drive-in. That was a differeb way to spend New Years Eve. We say Happy Feet. A most enjoyable night.
We then got the kids back late on New Years day and on the Wednesday we went to Venus Bay in Southern Victoria for a break. it was stinking hot down there and no sea breezes came in which made it even more stiffling. We did manage to get to the beacha few times and Christian learnt to Body-Board which he found thrilling. On the thursday night the kids spoke to their mum and she threatened to come down to Venus bay (4 hr round trip); really for no better reason than to annoy us. I thought she was joking, but sure enough during lunch-time on the Friday, there she was driving up and down (very slowly) along our road and past our house. Couldn't believe it.
As Christian had been sick that night (thur)and Charlotte was sick the night before, and it was still stinking hot, we decided to go home. On the Saturday we all went to the moview where Charlotte and Andie saw Happy Feet, and Christian and I went to see A Night at the Museum.
Yesterday we packed our Christmas tree and decorations down and returned them to their mum. Ge ethe place feels empty now
.
All in all a great little break
and we can't wait til we have them again in two weeks.
Happy New to you all. Catch you soon.
Cheers
