Motivation to exercise + thanksgiving

My next challenge is to lose 7 kilos...how do we fit everything in??? Okay, I am going to go down the the gym now...whilst Clay and Codi are at swimming.

Just a question to all, when do you get 5mins to have a cup of tea or read the paper (by yourself)????

Also, I would like to know more about what "thanksgiving' is all about, I find it lovely that all the family in the US get together for this time...I wonder why Australia doesnt celebrate it. Would love to know the history -

Anyway, Minti friends have a lovely weekend

Thanksgiving

What jenlemen said pretty much sums it up.. Over in Canada(where I am) we celebrate it too.. It's alot earlier(in October) than what the USA does it(which is in Nov)
Plus you get a day off of work, most stores are closed early since its considered a holiday.. And you get to spend it with your family and have a good tasting meal out of it.. Trust me, its very yummy(if you like meat that is)

(In our family we have it on thanksgiving and usually christmas too!! and ham for new years)

Good luck with losing the weight.. That seems like alot.. I've been trying to lose weight too.. It's going ok but its just hard expecially in the winter time here(its winter here and its like -28 degrees celcuis out.. brrrrrrrrrrrrrrr) I hope that you have a lovely weekend too (I've been learning how to drive, so I've been having a great weekend and its snowing here too, ahhhh lol)

7 kilos
hey rachel, i lost about seven kilos since january using weight watchers core plan.  do you have it in australia?  it promotes healthy eating (lots of fruit, vegetables, lean meat, light dairy and only the highest fiber grains and legumes, no sugar/sweets etc).  i lost very gradually but i've kept it off.

as for thanksgiving, the history is kind of mythological--the first thanksgiving was supposedly celebrated by pilgrims in the new world who had survived a harsh winter with the help of the native americans who joined them.  now, it's very much about family with the meal being central--turkey, cranberry relish and stuffing are required!  more great analysis here
