Play-doh celebrates 50 years!!

Comment Published at 05:1405:143 comments3 comments328 Visits328 VisitsReport

I know everyone LOVES playdoh (i hope), sometimes I don't when Codi eats it, and really tries to sneak it into his mouth, with a cute smile after he gets caught..well, back to the story...

Playdoh celebrates 50 years by relaunching it's website http://play-doh.com, and quote "Play-Doh was first created in 1956 by scientists at Rainbow Crafts, a Cincinnati soap and cleaning compound company. It was originally available only in white, with blue, yellow and red versions introduced a year later, and a four pack hitting stores in 1958. According to the company, the traditional 4-Pack remains one of the brand’s best sellers. New play sets were introduced in the 1960s and 1970s, with a Rainbow 8-Pack introduced in the 1980s. In 1986, the packaging was changed from cardboard to a plastic container. In the 90s, sparking, gold, silver and glow-in-the-dark versions were finally made available."

For more info..here's the news article from netscape..."Playdoh celebrates 50 years"...

Let's get out the playdoh for all those oldies out there that played with play doh when it first came out!!!

Play-doh celebrates 50 years!!
I remember playing with it as a kid - it didn't mix to well with the lego though.

I now make my own for Olivia, but I love all the little tools that you can get now.

I agree, there are so many tools to choose from. I am in two minds on whether to make some, thinking Codi will eat all the real play-doh when he's out at friends or other places...lol
