What do I do with a snatching boy?

Comment Published at 20:3020:304 comments4 comments147 Visits147 VisitsReport
Okay everyone, help. Codi has been snatching toys from the younger kids and also throwing toys around. If asked to give back the toy he has snatched he is good and returns the toy. If he is asked to pick up a toy he has thrown, he pretends he doesn't hear.

Suggestions?

Ha! and ooopppsss!
Guess I was suppose to be helpful,he,he! But kids develop through testing all this out and it is so much fun to see. I remember it not being fun to go through but Ya always figure out a way to be a step ahead!!!

We're going through this right now as well. When our little boy Jonah does grab something, we try to explain that its not his turn and make him hand it back, most of the time he does this without any fuss but sometimes he does get upset. When he does we try to divert his attention. Kids really don't learn to share properly until the ages of 3 or 4. They're still in the egocentric stage.
In regards to throwing toys and not picking them up, we just take the toy away and it gets a "timeout".
