My huffing and puffing newborn

Comment Published at 18:4918:494 comments4 comments27 Visits27 VisitsReport

It is so true each child is different...Codi (my firstborn) was a chucky baby. With Joshua being 4 weeks old I have experienced a strange phenomenon (that I have since found isnt so uncommon)...

Joshua huffs and puffs, grunts and grunts, even during sleep. Poor thing must be very uncomfortable but I can't help but find it amusing all this huffing and puffing, given that Codi is really into the "Three little pigs". Josh is very animated, at one point I was really worried. I tried the gripewater, but realizing it contained ethanol, I switched ti Infacol instead which absorbs the wind instead without the alcohol. He is alot better, still getting the funny huffing and puffing...we are burping a lot more, keeping him upright - all the usual techniques...I think I will still try the other homeopathic remedy (brauer brand) and see if that also works better than the infacol...

I just found it very different to Codi, with Joshy's huffing, puffing and grunting, I feel like I am huffing, puffing and grunting with him...I give him a big big kiss and a "welldone joshy" when comes out the other end...

Re: My huffing and puffing newborn

We have called our babies Snuffy's (from seasame street0 because they made so much noise when infants.  I think most babies are noisy sleepers due to the fact their airways are smaller.

I tell you what though, they would certainly rival a snoring champion!

I can definitely attest to every child being different. My son required more work within the first 12 months of his life than his twin sisters - the biggest difference being that my twins (now 11 months old!) can fall asleep on their own (yay!), while big brother ALWAYS had to be rocked and held.

Glad the infacol helps Joshua! Bet you'd be jumping for joy when the gas comes out both ends! LOL

the brealer (spelling) colic relief is really good. i found it was heaps better than infocol. u get it at the chemist. they have a heap of other things too like calm if they get really upset, teething relief for the teeth, and some more (been so long since i bought it)

they are so cute making all thse noises. Charlie used to suck her dummy making a clicking noise. it was so cute. she also used to make a " luglug lug" noise too.

brauer I think it's called. I think I will go out and buy this, as I was going to but the chemist pushed for Infacol, as he wasnt in to homeopathic remedies (then why sell them???) anyway am really glad that you mentioned it was really effective!!!! thanks I'll take a referral from a mum over a young guy any day :0)
