First session at kindy drama

Comment Published at 06:1206:122 comments2 comments12 Visits12 VisitsReport

A mumma + codi thing to do together is the kindy drama. Its the first kind of class that encourages communication and expression. Codi really loved it. I think its a great session to help him use his love of stories and role playing with other kids his age. He has been talking about drama to his daddy and loved it that I was involved with him in the acting out of the story at drama. He loved it so much that he was a little upset that he lost the sticker you get at the end. Luckily, I managed coax him to accept another sticker

This is great! I've never heard of drama for such young kids.

In high-school, I noticed that people in drama classes are more outgoing/outspoken/extrovert. I wonder if the class encourages that or if they were like that in the first place?

This class is more to promote expression and communication. Codes needs a little help in two way communication and this new kindy class aims to improve this area for him ... For other little 3 yr olds, it also helps them come out of their shells a little and have some fun. Codi is very talkative, we just want to improve conversation like "what", "where", "when" and "why". Also his lazy eye does get him a little tired to concentrate on the instructions towards the end of the 45 min session and it helps me observe this and speak to our opthalmologist to determine some strategies for his pre-school during the rest of the week. I am thinking of strategis, like letting him sit in the front of the group towards the end of the day. So he can concentrate, because when he looks up at the teacher, he has to work harder to adjust his eyes to focus. As one eye turns up.
