I know everyone LOVES playdoh (i hope), sometimes I don't when Codi eats it, and really tries to sneak it into his mouth, with a cute smile after he gets caught..well, back to the story...
Playdoh celebrates 50 years by relaunching it's website http://play-doh.com, and quote " Play-Doh was first created in 1956 by scientists at Rainbow Crafts, a Cincinnati soap and cleaning compound company. It was originally available only in white, with blue, yellow and red versions introduced a year later, and a four pack hitting stores in 1958. According to the company, the traditional 4-Pack remains one of the brand’s best sellers. New play sets were introduced in the 1960s and 1970s, with a Rainbow 8-Pack introduced in the 1980s. In 1986, the packaging was changed from cardboard to a plastic container. In the 90s, sparking, gold, silver and glow-in-the-dark versions were finally made available."
For more info..here's the news article from netscape..." Playdoh celebrates 50 years"...
Let's get out the playdoh for all those oldies out there that played with play doh when it first came out!!! |

It was a couple of months ago...after a big storm here and my husband said, 'quick come and see this'...so Codi and I went into his office and out onto the balcony...and wow, a pet bird had gotten out of it's cage. It was a great opportunity to show Codi what a real life bird was close up and also take part in trying to save the bird.
What a fun exercise it was!!! Thank goodness for the big nappy box I just happened to have lying around (lol)...Codi was trying to call the bird and really got into trying to help catch the bird. I explained to him we need to save the bird because it was someone's pet and pet's don't do so well not being at home, and hopefully the vet would help find the owner.
Well after an hour we managed to catch the blue bird and safely take the bird to the vet. We were told by a friend that these type of birds are quite expensive...
A good deed for the day for both Codi and I...
Have you saved anything lately? |

Taking a real holiday always reminds me to try and think of the last time we had a real holiday. (Over three years ago)...wow has it been that long. You know becoming a mom, I have finally realized what a REAL holiday means.
- No excuse to have a holiday around a conference or business opportunity.
- Limited checking of blackberry and not always taking calls.
- Catching on so much sleep, we have to stop ourselves from the guilt of slobbing around.
- Actually chill out and rest the brain from ideas and unplug for brain downtime.
- Realized that the world keeps going and hopping off the rollercoaster is fine, you just hop right back on when you get back.
- You are in nature.
- You don't care what the place looks like or sand everywhere.
- You tell your husband, 'lets just chuck (throw) everything into bags and all our clothes into one mammoth suitcase...' (a very unusual experience) ...I am just too organized when it comes to packing, it took a while for Clay (after asking 'are you sure we are going to just chuck stuff into bags and hurl'em into the boot?') to start hurling stuff into the boot -hehe
yes I can say it was a REAL holiday, with lots of funny memories and showing our little man nature...and saw all the real things, like Ba Ba Sheep, Turltes, Crocodile, Parrots, Kokatoos, kangaroos and plenty more wildlife...
I guess I can say I was on a country holiday, when we heard about our national wildlife hero had past away. You were a top bloke, Steve Irwin, may you smile and cheer in peace and the rest of the world rally to keep your conservation dreams coming true. |
