Dropping day nap

by rachelcookComment Published at 19:1819:186 comments6 comments122 Visits122 VisitsReport
Codi has started to drop his day nap, which is great as he is happy to go to sleep at bedtime. Less number of books we have to read, songs and us dancing around the room for his entertainment :)

He really enjoyed home day care today. His vocabulary is increasing too. I have to find more shapes to teach him. He already knows;

- hexagon
- octagon
- pentagon
- crescent moon
- star
- triangle
- slanted diamond
- diamond
- half a hexagon

and a whole lot of others.

I still am working on the toilet training though, I suppose all in good time.

The user experience is more critical today with the emergence of Web 2.0 during the past few years. Today wikis, blogs, and widgets are a part of the daily nomenclature in the work environment, but there are many questions around how this Web 2.0 world moves into the Enterprise world. How do software vendors bring the best features and functionalities to the masses?
Are these companies spending their R&D on bringing to market small applications that focus on one task or are they focused on improving their core applications, or is both possible?
Do Web 2.0 apps have enough speed, security, and stability for the Fortune 500 CIOs and thousands of employees around the world?

This panel will provide color commentary about the Web and Enterprise 2.0 worlds and what is ready for prime time.

Amazon Party

by rachelcookComment Published at 09:4509:450 comments0 comments31 Visits31 VisitsReport
Had a blast at the Amazon Party, two nights ago. Met and chatted with a lot of very interesting companies and services. We somehow ended up (rather sober mind you) walking around the streets of San Francisco finding our friends hotel. As much as fun us old parents can, we stayed up to at least 11pm. I remember a time when I was just starting to go out, not wanting to go to bed at 11pm, let alone 9:30pm.

I will upload photos soon :)

First slumber party

by rachelcookComment Published at 12:0612:061 comments1 comments46 Visits46 VisitsReport
Wow, I really felt it yesterday....my little man is growing up. We are in San Francisco, in the bay area and we went up north for an hour to catch up with a close cousin of mine I hadn't seen since I was four. He has two boys and my little man was having lots of fun hanging out watching them play on their gamecube, playing basketball and watching the Nickelodean choice awards on TV. Codi is only 2.9 months, but he was having fun. My mum/mom is also over from Australia and they both stayed the night there. It was emotional for Clay and I to leave him there, as we went off to San Fran to get ready for our four day conference at the Web 2.0 Expo. It was the first time Codi has slept over anywhere without us. I did hear Codi had a blast and being with his cousins is really good for him. They had friends over watching the Filipino kickboxing, lots of food, kids and noise. Everything I know he loves...bar the kickboxing!!

So I think they all slept very late as I woke my mom up at 9am!!! Codi is usually wakes at 7am and he was still asleep at 9am!!!

I am yet to find out how the night went and if Codi went to sleep okay and didn't keep everyone up.
