Hi, Minti parents and friends,
Welcome to me and my family...I have a husband, 2 sons and one fluffy white dog. I am a Co-founder of Minti, passionate about parenting and being a "work from home" mom. I am an avid blogger and a social advocate in Web 2.0 and Family 2.0 space. I am also an angel investor in Web 2.0 companies and tech innovators. I also have a tech company ineedhits.com that has been around for ten years this year (06), although the idea was founded in 1994, I joined in early May 1999, after the start up incorporated in Nov 1998. I have been a partner since 2000. ineedhits.com - that boosts your business online is one of 2 resellers of (US) Yahoo! Search Basic Marketing services.

5. The idea: After stepping down as Director of ineedhits and having a baby in 2004, I developed the idea for Minti in May 2005 after a year of research. I finished the business plan for Minti in June 2005, the idea was then called the Bubama ("Bub" "a" "ma"). We chose Minti from a line up of names, it sounded fresh and friendly.
6. Pulling the team together: Clay (member: ClayCook) was convinced by Matt and myself to take on the role of CEO. With Matthew''s (member: Matthew) full support and joining the team as CFO, I am sure Clay and I would not have been able to pull this together without him! This also enabled me to stay a part of Minti but not giving myself "another" full time job.
Clay has been my business partner for nearly 8 years and is also my husband. Hopefully our son will have a brother or sister at some point... (you could say both were my inspiration for Minti, as well as plenty of mothers!).
My blogs...
Family: I am one of two siblings...my parents divorced and became really great friends again, my father has now remarried and I have a half sister and step mom. My mother will remarry soon and I will inherit a step-father.

- My view on family life...Focusing on a wholesome family and working environment. Making life fun daily for my son; like going to the beach, swimming pools, music class, parks, playgrounds, playgroup and experiencing new things. Making sure my soulmate (husband) is happy too.
- I feel my contribution in the family... is to be the one who encourages our family to keep discovering the wonders in our world and growing from our experiences each day.
- I feel a role to society... is giving parents a place to celebrate their successes and achievements. Offer a common thread of sharing advice and providing a social place to find it.
- My interests are...Being a Web Entrepreneur, Social networking, technology, science, business, parenting, new trends on the internet, life planning and strategic vision.

PET PEEVES Unwanted and unsolicited advice on parenting. That's one of the many reasons why I thought of Minti. You can go and search advice in the privacy of your own home 24/7 and look for the advice you want. You are in charge of rating other people''s advice, you can write your own advice freely, crow about what you have achieved or not achieved without it falling on deaf ears, and ultimately be in control of what advice you really want to use and try. *Did you know that their are over 15,000 blogs/myspace''''ers owned by mothers sharing their stories and daily events in their lives. Some are heart felt, some survived by blogging, it''''s amazing how emotional I get from reading some of them. One wish of mine is to hopefully down the track have Minti donating to charities and help give something back... |
