Me and My Family

Who I am GraphicNot a Perfect Girl Graphic

I'm a mum, a daughter, a sister, a lover, a friend, I'm everything I can possibly be and nothing more.

Have no expectations of me and I shall never let you down!

Master Ratbag, is the most energetic 3y/o I have ever known. He loves to be outdoors, In the backyard, riding his bike or jumping on the trampoline. At the park giving me heart attacks with his absence of any fear, walking somewhere and taking in new sights and exploring his surroundings. An extremely curious boy always wanting to learn and understand and his mind is a sponge waiting to soak in all the knowledge possible (just like his mum). When confined indoors, he becomes rather erratic and unpredictable. He enjoys reading (or being read to), colouring (usually on the walls), he loves to get the music blaring and dancing like a lunatic that he is. He currently is fascinated with superheros and enjoys scaring the life out of me each time he climbs some peice of furniture quoting buzz light yr "to infinity and beyond" proceeded by jumping of said peice of furniture. He currently aspires to be an astronaught and to live on the moon, that or be a pirate.

My partner of 5 yrs, Shayne is 31y/o and has grown immensely as an individual and a partner in the time we have known each other. He is no longer the irresponsible care free young man I once knew, changing into the family man wanting to provide well for his family sometimes becoming confused by what is essential and what is more than necasary. I love him to pieces (most of the time) and while driving me nuts, he usually ends up being my rock!

Me, will soon be 25y/o, have somehow failed to grow the same way and still despite ...

Pfffft

Comment Published at 00:5400:543 comments3 comments13 Visits13 VisitsReport

My nose is all blocked up, my tonsils are swollen almost completely blocking my throat with some puss! Ewwww !!!! I'm tired and too busy to be this sick!!! Oh, I also have a tonne of flea bites over my legs and feet from work! Just to top it off, I must be somewhat tasty. All the bugs love me, ants, mosquito's and FLEAS!!! I currently can't afford to see a doc or fill a script for antibiotics which I definetly need! I got told to take some from work and i'm seriously considering it. Just long enough til I get to the doc on Friday! Even my lymph nodes are swollen o the size of golf balls!!!

On a brighter note. Things are looking good at work again after a couple of "small-ish" errors. And Ratbag is now eating more easily after our home rules of no second options for meals was also implemented at daycare. Consistency and staff willing to co-operate is the key :) Getting on top of all my tafe work! yay, only 4 more weeks!!!

For now, its back to my washing pile :( Have a good week everyone :)

potato stamps and dancing in the rain.

Comment Published at 17:1017:100 comments0 comments4 Visits4 VisitsReport

I baby sat the most gorgeous girl yesterday (until she bit rb). I decided to sit down with them in a supervised activity so made potato stamps and did painting. Got some really reat pics too, unfortunately I can't upload them as a) I don't have her parents permission to share them and b) we have no memory on the comp to upload them and for some reson, minti won't alloe me to do it straight form my camera. Anyway the kids had a blast with that and spent a fair bit of time outside despite the continuous cover of clouds threating to rain at anytime.

Finally the skies opened up and we had a decent downpour at about 8am this morning. Something you'd expect in the middle of winter. So what did we do? We went and played in the rain and the sounds of delighted squeals was just so entertaining. We are now dried off and back inside still dressed for summer, despite the lack of sun and the wet from the rain, its still a comfy temp! :) I love this weather!!!

Ratbag woke me this morning at 530 sitting in our bed, digging into a box of pizza shapes. *note to self, put shapes back in pantry! I reckon any child found awake before 6am on a saturday morning needs to be self sufficient or hung upside down from the clothes line. ROFL!!! In his defense we are up at 5 -530am through the week. Its absolute filth being up so early and I need my mouth washed out for saying, I'm kinda getting used to the routine of it!!!Lol.

No plans for the weekend. Will probably just have a quiet relaxing one with some house work and study chucked in some where. Hope everyone else has an amazing weekend :)

TGIF

Comment Published at 16:5216:525 comments5 comments12 Visits12 VisitsReport

I'm glad to report, I'm back to my normal busy self. :) Despite being stressed about how much tafe work I have in the next 4 weeks b4 the end of the yr, I am the happiest I have been in a long time. :) (Apart from last week).

This week, I worked 20 hrs, went to the post office, did groceries, ran a couple of errands for a friend, Spent a whole day at tafe, stayed on top of the housework, not to mention other small running arounds to pick up/drop off peeps. I played net ball for the first time ever on wednesday nght as well (my gosh am I paying for that now. lol). I really liked it and even got 2 goals. I think I will play again really soon, despite almost hurling in 3rd 1/4 from running so much. ha ha ha. Today I'm babysitting again and atempting to get forward on my tafe stuff as I won't be attending in the last week. Luckily the kids play really well together.

Day care issues resolved and am pleased to say that they are happy to work with me on the "sandwhich" issue. They are no longer going to offer them as an alternative simply because he won't eat the main meal. One of the carers in the room, a young girl, has even off her own back started keeping a food journal for my benefit and I really appreciate the extra effort. We did have another little incidence tho where ratbag slapped one of the carers and then kicked the director. I plan to speak to her about it on monday when I see her in the afternoon.

Other than that not mch more to report on. Not sre what the weekend entails yet, probably not a gret deal! But yay, TGIF!!!

Not sandwhiches!

Comment Published at 16:0116:012 comments2 comments15 Visits15 VisitsReport

Grrrrrr. Its made me pretty mad! I found out on Wednesday that at daycare, if RB doesn't want what is served up for lunch, They;ll cave in and give him sandwhiches. Not to sound horrible, but if we make something to eat, like at dinner time, if ratbag doesn't want what has been made, he goes without. Its not that I want that, but I'm not getting into the trap of making seperate meals for everyone. I'm experienced enough to know that he won't starve himself. I want him to understand that, he doesn't get anything to eat unil he's eaten or even tried would be better, some nights he literally refuses to even touch his food. Were working on it, now that he can tell us what kinds of foods he does want to eat. Last saturday he requested that I purchase some fish.... With the head on. We negotiated with fillets (and due to my dislike of fish and limited knowledge of cooking skills fish) we had battered deepfried snapper, with baked chips and salad. Spaghetti bolognaise. He used to always love that, then due the request of shayne, changed the pasta from penne to angel hair and rb wouldn't eat it, until I made him some penne pasta. Its not that much af an adjustment and is quiet easy, but Rb will eat it then and he is techniquely having the same meal as us. So thats another comprimise. Sausages and veg, not a fav of mine or shaynes, but RB eats it even some of the veg now. Why? Because we've included something into the meal that he wants to get something we want. Admittedly, he doesn't always get what he wants, but we try to encourage the trying of new foods. We also are planting some seeds on the weekend. SOme salad type plans that have a quick maturity age. (6-8 wks). So fast results for him and he may be more inclined to eat something he's help make. All though I'm doubting the tomatoes, unsure weather they'll last longenough on the plant to grow and ripen. lol.

Anyway, back on track. I requested they not offer alternatives, but rather wait until the next meal time and offer the same as what everyone else is having at all times. I know they have sandwhich day 2 x a week, and thats fine. And its only 2 other days a week he's there and I believe gradually, he has to give in and just eat whats on the menu.

This week has been pretty crappy! First I spent the majority of 3 days by myself at home struggling to keep occupied. I did get a vast amount of my study completed. And yet, I know I failed my test. I had a complete mind blank and couldn't remember the four stages of wound healing. I know them know. Its ok, I'll get to re sit it again in a couple of weeks. I can't believe there is only 6 more weeks left of the tafe yr. So I only have 5 more days at tafe! I am cheating and skipping the last week, but it means I have to work harder to have everything handed in on time and passed!

Work, well still waiting for the boss to ok the new roster, which would see me working 8 hrs a KVC with my sup on mondays. The 6hrs alone on tues, weds at FVH. I'm pretty happy with that. After all, I had kinda grown to like it at FVH after spending 2 weeks there But hopefully, I'll be back this mon. We are all gonna pester the boss today to get an answer. All the nurses are exceptionally happy with it and are keen to put it in place. Its perfect for everyone and its not often a roster can achieve that. lol.

Keeping myself busy today with babysitting for my supervisor. Training tonight, then tomorrow, nothing until the evening when I will be babysitting my friends 2 kidlets.
