What a glorious morning :)

Comment Published at 20:5420:540 comments0 comments7 Visits7 VisitsReport

I woke this morning to shadows of the weeping willow type tree we have in our frontyard, dancing across my bed along with patches made gold by the sunlight, the window slightly open allowing a gentle cool breeze to sweep across and the singing of birds and gentle hum of freewat traffic. Amazingly after a while, how comforting that sound can be. But it was 830. omgoodness. Slight sleep in there, so I enjoyed it for a moment before coming back to reality and thought of what my 3y/o would be doing. I heard cartoons off in the lounge so come out to see, he had breakfast set up on the coffee table with a bottle of juice. I'm assuming Shayne had set it up so he would come out and find it and leave me be. I know Ratbag was still asleep at 6am cos I said goodbye to Shayne when he was brushing his teeth. I can tell you all tho', that after the stressful and exhausting past couple of weeks, a good sleep in was definetley much appreciated.

One week left of tafe for me, I can't believe I've basically made it 1/2 way through. In ways it has flown so quickly. Work is going well. Had a successful case the other day which really helped boost my confidence. :) Before starting I calculated I would be making just enought to cover my childcare costs for the fortnight of $500. Well turns out I am making a little bit of extra cash than I thought which is really helping on catch up with childcare again (Fell a little behind when we went form 2 to 4 days a week) but after thats all caught up on, guess whos getting a little bit of extra pocket money. :)

Plan on taking it easy today, a few little last minute things for school, some house work, lotsa play time and movies too. Hee hee. Working tomorrow and family day on sunday.

I've been kicked out for the night.

I have been given a free pass. With the both of us having very busy schedules with it only getting worse as the yr draws to a close. Yes its only 5 weeks til xmas and 6 til the new yr graces us. Anyhow, normally theres a little bickering over whos turn it is to go out on a friday night. Normally we take it in turns, but as I said, we've both had an insane amount of things to attend recently, either seperately or together so we've been playing it by ear. He went out last week, but I'm going out tomorrow night!  Ohhh, so excited, one more sleep til I get to see New Moon. any who, slightly off track there, So since I was going out tomorrow night, I was happy to pass up a night out tonight and let shayne go again. Plus in about 3 weeks I'll probably have a friday and saturday on the same weekend, where I'll be going out. But last night, he aked me if I could go out cos the boys wanted to come over and play poker!!! o_O WTF! Were always bickering over whos turn it is and now I'm being asked to vacate my own house. lol. I'm not complaining, but not sure what I'm getting up to tonight. The company of good friends, loud music and a bottle of vodka does sound rather enticing. lol

Plan to do groceries in the morning, xmas shopping in the arvo while I have $$$ in bank account. Thankyou child care reabte. lol. Then as previously mentioned, New moon!!! Yah, feels like I been waiting for this for ever. Think I may have to rewatch twilight again or I could read new moon again today. Ha ha. I have been completely sucked in.

Ratbag, well hasn't he just been the epitomy of well lets see......... The devil!!! Tired, grumpy, back chatting (when he "hears" you), destructive and eating like a viking! This to me, implies either he is just in need of a break or he's gowing again :S or both, most likely both since he also was complaining of sore hips, and legs/arms the other night. He wouldn't take medicine for the pain and went to sleep whimpering. He's so stoic normally and never really complains about pain, and any pain normally is forgotton about quickly, so this has me a little concerned too. He hasn't complained again since, so I'm not going to react this time, but if it happens again, I may just get it checked out.

I think he is glad to have a day off from everything, no childcare, no routine, he gets to just run feral. I'm not even babysitting today so he has me all to himself; except for minti of course. lol. And I hve just seen the best example of monkey see, monkey do, no pun in intended. seriously. I just asked ratbag if he would like a banane for morning tea and of course he started grizzling and sooking, said no so I ate the damn banana! I get 1/2 way through and he comes over with another one and asked me to open it. lol. and he's just finished it too.

Well I guess I better at least get a little housework done. :( Hope everyone has a totally awesome weekend. :)

Just like a newborn!

Comment Published at 15:3115:312 comments2 comments18 Visits18 VisitsReport

Work went well yesterday. I have temporarily adopted a tinee tiny little kitten. Its about 4 days old, eyes still closed, ears have only jst lifted and he's the cutest thing ever. He has deformed front paws and is mising 2 toes on either side. So I am having to get up through the night again to feed. Its not too bad, just the same as having a newborn baby. Worked 29hrs this week, not including tafe or baby sitting on friday! Sooo exhausted.

While I was at work yesterday, Shayne took ratbag down to little athletics (which rb's cousin does). and he got to take part in a race. Out of 10 kids under 6, RB came forth and he was one of the youngest. lol. So I think when he's old enough we will enrol him into that. He apparently loved it, and I definetely believe that after hearing from him all about lane 9 (obviously the lane he was in). I'm all for supporting and encouraging our kids through any kind of activity like that.. Doesn't matter if its sports, music, arts, whatever he enjoys. :)

Its shaynes mums bday today, so will have to head over there for a few hours mid morning, com home in the arvo and do housework. I actually haven't seen shaynes family in some time. ooops, my bad. I do have a legit excuse tho. Between work, school, home and so forth, not much time left over. Just the way I love it. Shayne and I discussed it last night and he agrees he hasn't seen me so happy in ages. I actually feel like super mum and growing up, I always pictured myself as a mum who worked and someone who was always busy and I guess I kinda felt let down when it didn't work out first time around, but through comprimise (and childcare) we worked out and now have found a good balance for us all.

Bought tickets to go see New Moon on Sat 21st. Going with Becca, and saturday night was the best for us both. So can't wait. Until then, just keeping up with the normal stuff.

Smooth Sailing :)

Comment Published at 20:2620:260 comments0 comments5 Visits5 VisitsReport

So Glad the weather has fined up again, not that I didn't thouroughly enjoy the recent thunder storms and rain. I'm baby siting again today, so have the kids out side playing just before we go and have some ham, chesse, tomato sandwhiches for lunch. Will probably do some drawing and inside play this arvo then chuck a movie on a bit later. I thinks apart from the occasional squabbling (they play pretty well together) its actually easier with two. ha ha ha.

Am working tomorrow, so a quiet night in tonight, maybe a couple of beers and a movie. Sunday will potter around and get some housework done. Then back into this monday, full force. But I will finally have a relaxing night with a very good mate. We are out to the movies, tickets already bought!!! Yay.

Other than that, finally got our Childcare Rebate sorted and finally caught up on some bills, as we had a massive back payment go in, and now were starting to get ready for xmas as well. We have Shaynes mum's Bday on the 25th of this month, mine on the 10/12 (which we will also have a visitor for 5 nights - so can't wait cos I also get a couple of days off work as well). So all is smooth sailing currently.

My nose is all blocked up, my tonsils are swollen almost completely blocking my throat with some puss! Ewwww !!!! I'm tired and too busy to be this sick!!! Oh, I also have a tonne of flea bites over my legs and feet from work! Just to top it off, I must be somewhat tasty. All the bugs love me, ants, mosquito's and FLEAS!!! I currently can't afford to see a doc or fill a script for antibiotics which I definetly need! I got told to take some from work and i'm seriously considering it. Just long enough til I get to the doc on Friday! Even my lymph nodes are swollen o the size of golf balls!!!

On a brighter note. Things are looking good at work again after a couple of "small-ish" errors. And Ratbag is now eating more easily after our home rules of no second options for meals was also implemented at daycare. Consistency and staff willing to co-operate is the key :) Getting on top of all my tafe work! yay, only 4 more weeks!!!

For now, its back to my washing pile :( Have a good week everyone :)

potato stamps and dancing in the rain.

Comment Published at 17:1017:100 comments0 comments4 Visits4 VisitsReport

I baby sat the most gorgeous girl yesterday (until she bit rb). I decided to sit down with them in a supervised activity so made potato stamps and did painting. Got some really reat pics too, unfortunately I can't upload them as a) I don't have her parents permission to share them and b) we have no memory on the comp to upload them and for some reson, minti won't alloe me to do it straight form my camera. Anyway the kids had a blast with that and spent a fair bit of time outside despite the continuous cover of clouds threating to rain at anytime.

Finally the skies opened up and we had a decent downpour at about 8am this morning. Something you'd expect in the middle of winter. So what did we do? We went and played in the rain and the sounds of delighted squeals was just so entertaining. We are now dried off and back inside still dressed for summer, despite the lack of sun and the wet from the rain, its still a comfy temp! :) I love this weather!!!

Ratbag woke me this morning at 530 sitting in our bed, digging into a box of pizza shapes. *note to self, put shapes back in pantry! I reckon any child found awake before 6am on a saturday morning needs to be self sufficient or hung upside down from the clothes line. ROFL!!! In his defense we are up at 5 -530am through the week. Its absolute filth being up so early and I need my mouth washed out for saying, I'm kinda getting used to the routine of it!!!Lol.

No plans for the weekend. Will probably just have a quiet relaxing one with some house work and study chucked in some where. Hope everyone else has an amazing weekend :)

TGIF

Comment Published at 16:5216:525 comments5 comments14 Visits14 VisitsReport

I'm glad to report, I'm back to my normal busy self. :) Despite being stressed about how much tafe work I have in the next 4 weeks b4 the end of the yr, I am the happiest I have been in a long time. :) (Apart from last week).

This week, I worked 20 hrs, went to the post office, did groceries, ran a couple of errands for a friend, Spent a whole day at tafe, stayed on top of the housework, not to mention other small running arounds to pick up/drop off peeps. I played net ball for the first time ever on wednesday nght as well (my gosh am I paying for that now. lol). I really liked it and even got 2 goals. I think I will play again really soon, despite almost hurling in 3rd 1/4 from running so much. ha ha ha. Today I'm babysitting again and atempting to get forward on my tafe stuff as I won't be attending in the last week. Luckily the kids play really well together.

Day care issues resolved and am pleased to say that they are happy to work with me on the "sandwhich" issue. They are no longer going to offer them as an alternative simply because he won't eat the main meal. One of the carers in the room, a young girl, has even off her own back started keeping a food journal for my benefit and I really appreciate the extra effort. We did have another little incidence tho where ratbag slapped one of the carers and then kicked the director. I plan to speak to her about it on monday when I see her in the afternoon.

Other than that not mch more to report on. Not sre what the weekend entails yet, probably not a gret deal! But yay, TGIF!!!

Not sandwhiches!

Comment Published at 16:0116:012 comments2 comments15 Visits15 VisitsReport

Grrrrrr. Its made me pretty mad! I found out on Wednesday that at daycare, if RB doesn't want what is served up for lunch, They;ll cave in and give him sandwhiches. Not to sound horrible, but if we make something to eat, like at dinner time, if ratbag doesn't want what has been made, he goes without. Its not that I want that, but I'm not getting into the trap of making seperate meals for everyone. I'm experienced enough to know that he won't starve himself. I want him to understand that, he doesn't get anything to eat unil he's eaten or even tried would be better, some nights he literally refuses to even touch his food. Were working on it, now that he can tell us what kinds of foods he does want to eat. Last saturday he requested that I purchase some fish.... With the head on. We negotiated with fillets (and due to my dislike of fish and limited knowledge of cooking skills fish) we had battered deepfried snapper, with baked chips and salad. Spaghetti bolognaise. He used to always love that, then due the request of shayne, changed the pasta from penne to angel hair and rb wouldn't eat it, until I made him some penne pasta. Its not that much af an adjustment and is quiet easy, but Rb will eat it then and he is techniquely having the same meal as us. So thats another comprimise. Sausages and veg, not a fav of mine or shaynes, but RB eats it even some of the veg now. Why? Because we've included something into the meal that he wants to get something we want. Admittedly, he doesn't always get what he wants, but we try to encourage the trying of new foods. We also are planting some seeds on the weekend. SOme salad type plans that have a quick maturity age. (6-8 wks). So fast results for him and he may be more inclined to eat something he's help make. All though I'm doubting the tomatoes, unsure weather they'll last longenough on the plant to grow and ripen. lol.

Anyway, back on track. I requested they not offer alternatives, but rather wait until the next meal time and offer the same as what everyone else is having at all times. I know they have sandwhich day 2 x a week, and thats fine. And its only 2 other days a week he's there and I believe gradually, he has to give in and just eat whats on the menu.

This week has been pretty crappy! First I spent the majority of 3 days by myself at home struggling to keep occupied. I did get a vast amount of my study completed. And yet, I know I failed my test. I had a complete mind blank and couldn't remember the four stages of wound healing. I know them know. Its ok, I'll get to re sit it again in a couple of weeks. I can't believe there is only 6 more weeks left of the tafe yr. So I only have 5 more days at tafe! I am cheating and skipping the last week, but it means I have to work harder to have everything handed in on time and passed!

Work, well still waiting for the boss to ok the new roster, which would see me working 8 hrs a KVC with my sup on mondays. The 6hrs alone on tues, weds at FVH. I'm pretty happy with that. After all, I had kinda grown to like it at FVH after spending 2 weeks there But hopefully, I'll be back this mon. We are all gonna pester the boss today to get an answer. All the nurses are exceptionally happy with it and are keen to put it in place. Its perfect for everyone and its not often a roster can achieve that. lol.

Keeping myself busy today with babysitting for my supervisor. Training tonight, then tomorrow, nothing until the evening when I will be babysitting my friends 2 kidlets.

not working :(

Comment Published at 17:5017:5016 comments16 comments28 Visits28 VisitsReport

So extremely peeved, even cursing wouldn't help calm me! No work this week, but I still have RB booked into daycare. The roster that was done up was until yesterday! The other girl came back off holiday so I have been put on hold again until The boss gets back to work on tuesday to approve the new roster which will hopefully see me working more down in kwinana. A bonus cos it'll be 8 hr days instead of 6 and its closer to home so less $$$ on petrol. So that'll put a few extra $$ back in my purse, which will be handy right before xmas and my birthday. For which we'll have a visitor for so lots of outings and so forth. A new outfit possibly, a night out on the town, hopefuly I'll get to go paint balling as well. I have always wanted to do it and I've roped in my friend. ha ha ha, evil aren't I! Don't worry I'll give her another chance to back out!

So anyway with ratbag in daycare and me off for the week, I had a relaxing weekend with plans to catch up on the house work today and get stared on my assignments and stuff for tafe! I was then hoping on tues to catch up with a friend for a cuppa if she is free! Wednesday more study time as I have a test this thurs! eeek! Speaking of tests and stuff! I can't remember if I updated you all on my case studies! They both passed with flying colours! I even got stickers. hee hee! One down point between them tho is that I forgot to source references on one of the 2 cases! I also passed my RX works assignment (office stuff) and one lot of my pharmacy. I also had to hand back one test with a revised answer as I went into too much detail. lol. I should get that back this week.

I think ratbag is having another growth spurt :s I swear it never stops. He just had one a couple of months ago and it was very noticble then!!!! He was so exceptionally unbalanced not normal for him at all. He fell three times and bumbed his head - not so unusual, what ws tho is what he was doing when he did it. Stuff he does all the time and has never hurt himself doing for a long time! I mentioned to a friend on Saturday about the first mishap and how I'm just waiting for the day to come where I'll be rushing him to emergency for stiches or a cast!!! We reckon within one yr! I just sometimes wish he would slow down and think about what he's doing but I guess the only way for him to learn that lesson is through experience unfotunately. It doesn't matter how much I try to stop him or explain to him the risks, he'll either find something just as equally dangerous or more so if he doesn't just do what he originally planned! So anyway back to the gorwth spurt theory, he's exceptionally unbalanced and uncoordinated, he's legs must be hollow or I dunno where he's keeping all the food he takes in, and he's a grumpy miserable little turd!

Well I guess if I want any chance of getting this housework over with, I must go face it. Not that I really want to as its all mind numbing boring stuff that allows me too much time to dwell on the negitive.
