I totally understand how frustrating it is to find the right meds. I am Bipolar too but have come a long way in this lifetime. I added you as a friend would love to keep updated on your son. Feel free to talk to me anytime or even if your son wants to speak to someone who has been through the same experience as he; the offer is there also.

 I wish your son  all the best on this new medication, hope it doesn't make him sick like the old one did.

Sounds like you have a great bond with your son, I sincerely hope he continues to come to you to talk about his thoughts and  fears. 

I think it is quiet natural to feel scared after what you have been through ( I read your story)  hope you have loved ones around to give you the support you so deserve.  You are one fantastic Mum.
