Another Text 2 My Daughter

Comment Published at 01:5901:5917 comments17 comments55 Visits55 VisitsReport

I believe I have found the best way to communicate with my daughter and since many kids these days have mobile phones other parents may like to consider similar.

Try and give them advice and it will get thrown straight back at you but disguise it in a message of love and it goes down so sweet.

My most recent txt below:

A Daughter is like a loaf of bread.

Don't give it time to rise and it is flat and lifeless,

but be patient and you can watch it grow and mature.

Reply from Daughter:

Oh Dad your so damn, oh, I dunno, lovable! Love you lots and lots.

Regards

Robert

Re: Another Text 2 My Daughter

You should write something similar in teh advice section, I think alot of members can get alot out of that.

Its funny someone else mentioned about telling their kids they love them, last night for the first time in ages, my kids all snuggled up with me in my bed and fell asleep cuddling me and watching tv. It was so nice to finally  have time for them and to do something so simple, yet something that brought us so much closer together. My 6yr old particularlly liked it, and went off at me when I moved my arm away from him lol.

Re: Another Text 2 My Daughter

This does seem like a good idea. Now, if my son could actually keep from LOSING his phone every chance he gets maybe I could try it! He currently doesn't have one because he has no money and his dad and I are not springing for a new one!

Yes, us oldies need to keep up with technology. What a mess the world would be in if it wasnt for Alexander Graeme Bell.......Or would it?

Re: Another Text 2 My Daughter

LOL.  Are you referring to her being grumpy first thing in the morning? Glad you have contact with her in a way that she knows.

Re: Another Text 2 My Daughter

Basically any way other than face to face seems to work well unfortunately.

Makes you wonder how their children will communicate as technological advances increasingly alter our very existence.

Re: Another Text 2 My Daughter

I havent tried this with my son as yet...My guess is he will tell his mum that I sent him some random message.

Just the same I will try and think of a bloky poem to send him and see what happens.

Re: Another Text 2 My Daughter

A random act of kindness doesn't have to come from or be given to a stranger, families are worthy of it too.

It is a good way to teach your children positiveness as the experience the challenges of life.

I hope your mum felt all lovey dovey too.
