Today is the last day of Son 1's apprenticeship. Tomorrow he is a fully qualified Carpenter! Yeah!!!!!
From trial and tribulation, fights with schools, teachers, people and systems - we believed in him! We believed the our HN son would be a successful person and he is in so many ways. Not only has he made it (when the odds stacked against him) with his job but he is gentle, kind, loving, jovial and knows how to laugh at himself. We get heaps of praise because he takes the time to talk, smile and wave to everyone. He goes out of his way to help others who are 'different' by being a friend. Hey even the School Captain included him in his farewell speech. He said and a special thanks to my friend 'D' for being a good friend and teaching me how to enjoy life and be a kid. He has done advanced driver training and the one major accident he had (not his fault) - in the split second that it required he remembered the training, checked the road ahead and swerved. He took out the whole front engine of their Commadore. The police congratulated him because if he didn't swerve two would surely be dead. They pulled out in front of him and did a U turn on a 70 km road. AND his lovely girlfriend is stopping over tonight to help celebrate AND he is cooking for us even though I offered. So I am getting him the biggest rasberry cheescake with Congratulations on top! Never give up - you really don't know how much you can achieve. I am haviong bubbly tonight Hooray, |
