I haven't left, it's just been a long week. Endometriosis takes its toll, and it's been hard to get up and around for the past few days. No worries, all. I'll be back in full swing soon. *smiles*
Hope you are well!! |

It's "that week"...and it hasn't even actually begun yet. Heh. Go, me. Over-emotional, angsty, blah sort of mess, am I. But...by this time next week, it'll be over. Thank goodness for that! |

We had snow here this past weekend! Granted, it was only about an inch where I live (contrary to Buffalo, which got nailed!), but it was beautiful. I was so homesick, not having snow in my last 4 Winters. Now I feel much, much better. Yay!!
Now, if only we could ahve snow without the frigid temps!! Brr! |

My heart goes out to the family, teammates, and friends of Corey Lidle, pitcher for the New York Yankees. I am, and have always been, a huge Yankees fan, and, being a New Yorker, this is very sad for me. Please pray for the people affected by the loss of this man. *sad sigh* |

Alec slept straight thru last night, for the first time in days. I didn't fare so well, and neither did Roger, but he went to work and I have a house to degermify. Heh. When I'm able to, I'll come in and check things out that I've missed! Have a wonderful day!! |

Anyone have a sledgehammer, with which to knock me out so I don't ache all over? Heh. Alec is feeling better, but Mommie is very ill this morning. I really and totally despise the Flu.
I'd dance, but it would hurt. *laugh* |

Alec was not quite himself Friday morning, before heading to school, and I stockpiled the Sickie Meds while he was there. Sure enough, he got off the school bus Friday afternoon and I had to carry him home. Poor little man has had fevers, mild nasal congestion, minimal coughing, and intermittent vomiting since. I'm alternating tylenol and advil, every 3-4 hours, giving him lukewarm baths each time the fever spikes a bit, and he has been munching on saltine crackers and drinking lots and lots of water. At night, I've been giving him half a tblsp of children's Nyquil, just to ease the congestion a bit, plus putting a dab of Vick's vaporub beneath his nose and on his feet and chest. He's getting better. Today there is no school due to Columbus Day observations, and until he has been 24 hours without a fever, I am keeping him home. We don't want to make anyone else sick. Now if only he would sleep at night...I'm beyond exhausted. |

I have not felt this good or this alive in more than a year. My EX-husband (god, I love how that sounds) called me last evening to say, "it's done. We are legally divorced. I'm sending the papers out as soon as they release them to me, which is in 10 days," to wit I replied, "Well, thanks for the last 2 years and I sincerely hope that you find yourself and find your truest happiness. Bye!" and that was the end of it. All of it. I never have to speak to him again, as he is not my son's Father. I want to stand on my roof and just laugh and dance. When one door closes, anotehr opens. Always.
YAY!!! *dancing the cabbage patch and laughing*
Have a fabulous, fabulous day, all! Be kind to yourself. |

Today is the day, folks. Today is the day. As of this evening, Eastern Time, my divorce will be final. Final, I say!! *dancing around, happily* No more controlling, verbally abusive husband. No more US Marine Corps. No more headaches and no more tears. (there's a song in this somewhere...)
Please check this out: http://jenlemen.minti.com/blog/24543/Take-the-Total-Attention-Challenge/
jenelemen is offering us all a wonderful idea on how to reconnect with our kids, and I am definitely taking part!! She gets ALL of the credit for this, mind you. I am just a willing participant, lol!! Excellent stuff, Jen! Truly.
Here's hope that everyone has a fantastic day! Take time to Breathe and Just Be. |

Not much to write about today. Watched Monday Night Football last night (Roger is a HUGE Philadelphia Eagles fan, having grown up near Philly). My divorce will have its final hearing tomorrow, which has me breathing much more freely, and things are looking up. Going to sit and read this afternoon, as the weather is ominous and my thoughts are somewhat scattered. I try not to take myself out on others when I get this way. Deep thought is best handled alone, in me, lol.
Enjoy the day! |

Ahhh, the work-week. Nothing like it, is there? Heh. We had a nice, relaxing weekend, here. It's been cold, and rainy, but it's been heavenly. Having grown up here in western New York, then moved out to California, I had been extremely homesick and missing the changes of Seasons. It does my Spirit good, to watch the leaves change colours and to feel the cold nights of Autumn. The smell of wood-burning stoves and being able to giggle with Alec at the bus stop each morning, as we watch our breath, soothes parts of me. It's good. Very good.
My 4th and final wisdom tooth is finally starting to cut through. Yay!! Roger says, "Now you've got a reason for being such a wise-a**"... to wit, I gently reminded him that he is 8 years older than I am, so what is his excuse? Hahaha! (aka I Win)
Off to clean house a bit and work the kinks out of my knee. Smile, everyone!! Make today a great one. |
