Been Awhile

Comment Published at 11:1511:153 comments3 comments293 Visits293 VisitsReport

hey y'all it's been awhile since I have been on here... Busy summer this year and the babysitting is booming!!!  Lots of kids here most of the time.  I have a week off though since the kids are all on vacation.

Lets see since I have been on, someone attempted to break in to my house while Joe, my husband was working.  Scared the crap out of me.  It was pure fluke that the doors were locked, I had been out to a festival here in the community with the kids and we got home late, about 10pm.  I never do this but I locked the doors right after we came in I guess because it was late and I knew nobody would be around at that time and I knew I wasn't going anywhere.  Funny though because normally I don't lock up until I go upstairs to bed.  This particular night I fell asleep on the couch, I had turned off the TV because I felt myself dozing off and the only lights on were the outside light and the hall light for the kids.  I sleep on the couch sometimes when Joe isn't home so that is fairly normal.  I had been asleep about a half and hour when I woke up to the sounds of someone trying to get in my front door...The door is only 2 feet from my head.  I layed there unable to move for a few moments and I listened to make sure it wasn't in my head and I knew it wasn't Joe since he works and hour away and drives in a car pool.  My cat was lying on the floor right beside me and the kids were all speeping but after about 5mins I decided to get up and try to grab the phone.  I forgot the TV remote was lying on me and it dropped when I went to get up and crashed on the floor.  That crash and the cat jumping upto the window sill at the same time startled who ever it was they ran away.  Since then i haven't slept all that much.  Our community is usually so quiet I have lived here my whole life and the only other attemped break in happened 7yrs ago coincidentally to me.  But that was different there were two men forcefully trying to get in and they were captured by the police in my yard and they were hitch hikers form Far away.  So it is unusual that these things happen here.  Lately there has been about a dozen thefts and a handfull attempted break ins.  We the comunity belive that it is someone who lives here and knows us and our habits well... Who knows I can only hope they catch this person SOON

Pool is a Hit!!!

Comment Published at 21:1121:112 comments2 comments243 Visits243 VisitsReport

Well according to my kids and the children I watch, the pool is COOL!   They have had a great time slashing around.  My 7yr old even snuck her bathing suit to school and put it on before she got home so that she could peel the clothes off while stepping off the bus and jump into the pool.  Too funny.  For the baby who is too little to go in the pool with out me, I got out the plastic kiddie pool and filled it with about 2" of water and put it on the deck with me and she loved it.  The sun heated it up in no time, by supper it was like sitting in the bath.

Aside from the pool not much happened around here and it was great!  We got strawberries that were picked today, from a co-worker and I was going to make jam tonight but we all have been diving into the berries all day one here two there I don't think I will have enough berries to make the jam.  Oh well, we could be eating worse and what is better than fresh strawberries???

Filled the pool!!!

We filled the pool for the kids today.  It's not a huge pool but still a good size just past my knees if I am stnding in it.  Perfect size for them to get cooled off an play but not so deep that I have to worry a whole lot.  i still sit right on the deck and watch while they play.  We called the water guy to bring water to fill it and it was going to take about a week for him to get here with all the calls he has right now, so Joe decided to get a friend and bring a fire truck over to fill it!  That was neat and in in no time we were watching the kids swim.  If anything we had trouble keeping the water in the pool the pressure behind the hose was CRAZY... but now it is done and the kids can swim  Happy day!

Cheers

Good Morning

Hey everyone!   I woke up and the sun was shining, very good sign.  It has been so dark and gloomy lately so it was time for the sun to finally make an apperance.

My youngest daughter took a spill on Father's Day while playing with my older girls.  Poor little thing was playing chase tooo close to the wall and fell, when she went down she hit the wall and her teeth in the front went through her lip.  We have been through the teeth through the lip before but this time it was BAD.  Acctually thought she might need stiches.  Scared my big girls, there was blood all over the curtains and her poor litlle mouth was cut in several places.  She is still quite swollen.   Thank goodness Daddy is trained medically because he was able to clean her up well enough to see that it looked worse than it was and a trip to the hospital was not needed, just some popsicles and hugs.  I still look at her today and my mouth hurts, even though she seems oblvious to her "owie"   Poor little thing.

My week in a nutshell

Hey everyone thought I'd share some photos!  We have a couple of ducks who keep coming over to visit the girls.  They think that it is great!   I see them every year in the spring they just fly in and lay their eggs in the neighbours pool.  While they wait for their eggs to hatch they swim up and down the ditch LOL.  For all the years I have seen them at the neighbours I have never had them come into my yard.  Mabey it is the numberous visits that we pay them at the ditch with the girls... What ever the reason the kids are loving that they have ducks who come to visit every day.

The middle picture is my youngest daughter and kind of a funny story.  While Joe and I were on this site looking around, Nikki was in the toy room playing, when I noticed she had been quiet a while.  I go to check and I call her several times getting no answer so I start wandering around looking for her.  Joe goes into the play room and looks behind the couch and there is our "precious" little daughter with a make up set that one of the older ones had left in her reach.  So Joe holler's to me "Hey Mommy come check out our little girl".  When I get there she says "Ki Ki pretty"  (Ki Ki is how she says her name Nikki)  And how precious she was.

The Home Front

Hey there everyone!   It 10pm and I am finally sitting down... been a busy day I have been watching a friends two little girls today, but really as busy as it was for me they were all well behaved and no real moments of insanity.  I love my friends little girls one is four and gets along well with my 5yr old and her other little one is 6mths and since my baby is getting pretty self sufficient, it was nice to have a little one to cuddle for the day.  Actully I got a kick out of watching the two babies play together, Nikki (19mths)  was quite the little helper today she loved having someone smaller than her around the house.  she played peek a boo and kept a steady supply of toys right in reach.  It was quite humourous....  Needless to say though it was BUSY.  Bath time is quite the event with 5 kids I am commending all those parents out there who have a handful of kids all the time it is quite the juggling act.  Better than any sleeping pill LOL.

Well I am off to browse, before bed I have a few more kids tomorrow early in the morning so I shouldn't really be on here late.  So till tomorrow g'night all!!!

                                                                                                                Gracie and Mya today!

Greetings Everyone!!!

Comment Published at 04:3904:391 comments1 comments301 Visits301 VisitsReport

Good morning everyone!!!  I am new to the site as of lastnight, my husband stumbled upon it in his web surfing travels yesterday, and he also decided to start an account.  His name on this site is FireFighter Daddy.  I have to say after spending some time lastnight looking around that I have never found a site so informative and well layed out great work!!!!

I am a stay at home Mom of 3 girls.  Ages 19mths through 7years old.  Although I am home now, I have spent most of my time as a Mom working partime.  My husband Joe, is a shift working Fireman so with his crazy hours we found it hard to juggle my partime hours which were from 8am to 9pm and the kids schedules.  My oldest daughter is in school fulltime and also very active in extra activities such as Brownies, soccer and school activities such as chess, plays and choir.  My middle daughter is Grace and she is 5.  She is the shy girl of the family and she is in school partime, Junior Kindergarten and that is every other day.  She enjoys playing with her sisters.  Nicole is 19mths and she is a whirl wind baby.  Not a shy bone in her body and although ahe is the smallest she always makes sure her voice is heard.  Our last but certainly not least is Cleo the family cat.

Can't tell you how many times I wished there was a site like this to look up some advice I look forward to meeting some of the other parents on the site and hearing about other parents trials and tribulations.
