Talk about ur delayed reactions lol...and/or my "late breaking news flash" lol.  I did find a nice 2 bd apt for my boy & I & it's wonderful!  We have been living here for just over a month now & I am finally starting to feel settled in as the pieces are all falling into place here in our new home.    I love the neighbourhood as it was one of my fave ones as a child & now my boy  can go to a good school.  I am soo happy that things are working out & I am also starting to think about going back to school myself now that we have a good routine going here & he's getting out of 'summer vacation mode' lol. 

The main reason I haven't had the opportunity to be on the minti site since moving is that I had to unpack all of my 'junk' lol.  I found out that I am turning into my MOTHER omg! ( I  love her so much but she does manage to frustrate me more often than I care to admit lol.)    Plus the new place has next to no storage space & I was truly spoiled with storage @ the old place....but I have been finding creative solutions to my storage problems.  I finally managed to hang a calender up on the living room wall yesterday lol; I realized how funny it was that we have been living here for just over a month & it took me that long to hang a calender up!  But I kid u not; @ first here we were just tripping over ourselves & there were tons of boxes that all required unpacking & finding places to put things was so frustrating omg! 

I can not forget to mention the new friends we have made in the neighbourhood; they truly are gems & I value their friendships dearly.  The other day I even managed to lock us out of the house with the keys sitting on the kitchen table!  We were going to a supper & a social gathering so I thought I would call the landlord when we returned & he had told us the day b4 that he would be coming over that nite anyways to do something or other around the house...Lo & behold he & his wife were both unavailable & I got their ans machines.  So I left a couple messages & sat on my steps for a bit.  Then my son saw some other neighbours(with whom we were not aquainted with yet) working on something outside.  So he went over & asked if they had a ladder we could borrow....to make a long story short; we made it inside long b4 the landlord even called back lol.

All in all, life is great & we are just happy & doing awesome.

Well I haven't had much time to visit minti since I joined & I do think this site is absolutely wonderful.  I just haven't had much time to myself at all...I have not only been single parenting my wonderful little sonshine but I have also been in the midst of what is commonly referred to as 'apartment hunting hell' .

There is a shortage of available (not to mention liveable...ugh seriously some unit's I have looked at are not suitable for an animal to live in!) apartment dwellings in my city & when I do get to look at one, the landlords always tell me, 'you wouldn't believe how many calls I have received over this ad!'  Yes, I do believe them as I have been apartment hunting for the whole of summer thus far & almost found the perfect place a couple weeks ago, but the heat was electric & I didn't want to have to worry about soaring hydro costs...

Well... the hunt is still on & today we are looking at a 'basement' apt (I swore to myself that I would never live in a basement again after getting S.A.D. b4)...but the landlord assured me over the phone that the windows are full sized & it's actually a semi-basement.  Well, I guess there's only 1 way to find out & that's by looking at it.  Plus, it's in a nice little residential area where my son can play outside safely (except there is no yard at our address...but a playground down the street!).

Well.. my little 'quiet time' this morning should come to an end now as I really can't let my son sleep too late.  School starts in only 5 more sleeps!  Yay!

1. What's your child's favourite book? ...My son says his favourite book is Simpsons and it's a comic book lol.
2. What's your favourite children's book?...My fave is Dr. Suess's Green Eggs & Ham lol....No I would not eat green eggs & ham.
3. What's your child's favourite thing to eat?...My boy's favourite food is watermelon.  He could eat a whole one by himself in just a couple of days lol.
4. What's your favourite thing to eat?...My fave food is poutine...I make it at home now & then & I guess it's one of my 'comfort foods' lol.
5. What's your child's favourite game?...My boy's favourite games are video games (ugh!).  They are siren & grand theft auto.
6. What's your favourite game?...I like playing pool and crib; but I dont' get to play them very often.
