My Recent Gifts

Me and My Family

I have a husband and two beautiful little boys, nearly 2 and 4. They are very active and intelligent and demand alot of my time, which I enjoy giving. My hubby works full time and I am a stay at home mum.

Last week we had an offer put on our house. Settlement was to be 60 days. That would give me 1 month to do majority of packing and 1 month to look for a rental.

BUT........ Last night the offer fell through as they couldnt get finance.

Our relestate agent has another potential buyer who has been waiting for a payout that he should get on Monday. Hopefully he will make an offer. I really dont want to have any more home opens, they really put a damper on the weekend.

Never mind, it will sell eventually, then we can get started building.

Today we had a lovely day. Hubby, the boys and I went to a nearby coastal town called Horrocks, with some friends. One of my friends watched the boys on the beach while I got to have a swim with hubby and our other friends and their kids.

Its so lovely there. You jump off the jetty and let the current float you accros to the pontoon, then jump off the pontoon and body surf back to the shore on the waves.

My four year old wanted to jump off the pontoon too, so hubby took him accross on his back (with me swimming frantically beside him making sure he didnt fall off and drown!) We then helped him up and let him jump off into daddys arms. He had a ball.

I made sure the kids had suncream on but forgot about hubby. The poor guy is in alot of pain!

Busy boys

Comment Published at 15:3015:300 comments0 comments2 Visits2 VisitsReport

My four year old started tennis lessons last week. He absoluely loves it. He is in a class with about 6 other children ranging from 3 and a half to 7. He was so proud when he brought home his new racket and hat.

Hubby and I love it too, not just because its good for him. When we take him to tennis, we sit and watch him while our almosst 2 year old plays in the little enclosed play area and we reintoroduce ourselves to each other! We get to talk for a goodhalf hour without the boys interrupting!

My 4 year old has also started going to kinder gym by himself. While I was a litle nervous at first about leaving him, I actually look forwarrd to it now because I get an hour to spend one on one with my 2 year old. This week we played wih the puzzles and because his big brother wasnt around taking over, I got to see what he is acually capable of and how much he knows about colors and shapes. Hes a clever little tacker!

I dont like it when my kids get sick

Comment Published at 05:1805:180 comments0 comments4 Visits4 VisitsReport

My eldest boy is strong as an ox and hardly ever gets sick and when he does, he gets over it alot quicker than most kids.

My bubba on the other hand, has a blocked sinus and is prone to ear infections. His last one was about 6 months ago and hes had a good run since then with no colds etc but has had fluid in his ear still. A natropath gave me these drops and tissue salts and got me to take him off dairy and wheat completely for 4 wks. Did that and hes alot better.

The 4 wks is up so i am now letting him have normal bread (I cant afford to keep buying wheat free stuff) and limited dairy. This week he pbably had too much dairy though (he got into the yoghurt) and he is sufferring for it.

He was fine today but is sick and snuffly tonight. I hpe hes not going to get croup, hes had that twice.

Im not really good at this blog thing

Comment Published at 04:1104:110 comments0 comments1 Visits1 VisitsReport

Havent written anything since my first entry a month ago! My boys keep me busy. That and we have had a few dramas to deal with. Also I have started working from home online and that is keeping me out of mischief when i am not playing with the kids ad doing housey things. I really enjoy it though. I get up at 6 before the kids wake up, go to my computer, look at my notebook to see what phone appointments I have (with clients in Vic and SA cos they are 2 hours ahead) then I usually fit in two telephone calls before the kids wake up at 8am.

Im especially enjoying the comradery among my team members online. We instant message one another and I have one client who I doing some training with and she is just a darling to talk to. Its giving me something different to do and its helping out with the finances without me haaving to leave my kids.

Im looking forward to the school holidays being over. Obviouly my kids dont go to school but they are very busy with activities like swimming lessons, music lessons, kinder gym and tennis. I love watching them enjoy their activities and learn new skills and they love it too. We all miss it. It has put our weekly routine out a bit. We still have our weekly craft day though.

My mother comes over on Wednesdays and some other mums and their kids come too. We do craft activities. Last week the older kids made robots and the bubbas just finger painted each other. Sometimes we make and play with play dough, sometimes we make cards, kites etc.

A friend of mine has to go back to work, and usually puts her 2 year old in day care. She doesnt want to have to put him their as much this year so she has asked me to take him smetimes. I am very happy to because it gives my boys someone else to play with. So far we will take him on Wednesdays, that way he can join in with our craft day.

Should be fun!
