Little man - BIG bump!

Comment Published at 08:4208:429 comments9 comments98 Visits98 VisitsReport

I had a docs appt tonight to find out why there is a lump under my scar (from having my appendix out 2 weeks ago). Decided to take the whole family for some reason, maybe it was just easier on me with less running around. Usually only about 20 minutes when at the docs so thought they would be okay with it.

Boy was I wrong!

My teen threw a fit because we wouldn't take her to mcdonalds to buy herself (and nobody else) dinner. I had dinner sitting on the stove at home waiting. Though she was easy to deal with!

But you wouldn't believe it...... Of all the places my little man could have an accident, he chose the waiting room of the doctors surgery!!!

I was standing there talking to a friend that happened to be there and his daughter (whom I have known since she was born) and the next minute I see J doing a nose dive of the chair he was sitting on. J had been rocking on it and lost his grip.

Face first into the concrete floor!!!!!!! Well, did he scream!

My poor little man ended up having to see the doctor himself and he now has a huge 'egg' on his head and a wicked headache to boot.

Tomorrow is going to be fun.

J quite often bumps his head and every time, for about 2 days afterwards, he is grumpy and mean and just downright horrible! Aren't I lucky I love him so darned much lol.

At the moment he is sleeping on the couch in the lounge room, I have made a bed up so I can lay next to him as I don't want him sleeping alone tonight. It was a pretty hard fall from about a metre high. So I will be up all night worrying about him.

Don't our lovely munchkins keep us on our toes  They are so beautiful and sweet and loving but boy can they scare the pants of you sometimes.

Re: Little man - BIG bump!

Thanks, he is feeling much better today but I do have the day care staff keeping an eye on him for me and they will call me if they have any worries.

I still quite haven't found out what the lump is. The doctors are thinking it could be a congealed blood clot. It is 7cm wide by almost 4cm deep so will need to go in and have a needle inserted into it under ultrasound to see if that is what it is. All they tell me is that it is a large mass and I need to be watched closely to make sure an infection doesn't kick in.

I will be so glad when all this sickness and cycle of suck has passed...

At least it was the right place LOL. Poor thing, hope he feels better tomorrow. My kids always seem to have a bump or a lump on them somewhere.

Poor mum, thats heartattack material! LOL

Yes heart attack material, definitely! I think I have a few more worry lines on my face this morning thanks to the adorable little man. He is fine today. Jumped up at 4 this morning wanting to go to day care and school! His resilience to bumps and bruises is getting better.

oh poor little guy! children always find a way of proving gravity exists! Amy usually hurts her head or face usually before a big family occassion so in all the important photos she has a bump or scrape on her face.

Re: Little man - BIG bump!

I hear you on that one! Almost all of J's photos show him with a bump or bruise. They have great timing don't they?!?

Last week was a bump on the other side of the head and the week before was a black eye from playing wrestling at day care!

Will it never end!

At least he did it in the best possible place to get medical attention! LOL Ahh, boys, yes. A good first aid kit and sound knowledge in advanced first aid is a must have. I know, mine drove a roofing nail all the way through his finger on the weekend.

LOL that's all I could think was that we were certainly in the right place, pity it can't be like that all the time! I suppose that's why I have a first aid certificate and first aid kits everywhere.

Owww, I bet that hurt! Hope he is okay. Boys are just so precious...... sometimes. LOl
