I was the proudest Mummy today. I was walking through my local shopping centre, and saw a school display. I then remembered there was something in the boys school newsletter, saying that their school would be participating.

So..... I'm looking and looking and there it was. My son's drawing of a bridge, which is a Brisbane landmark, The Storey Bridge. I have seen this before, on his classroom window but I did not know it would be in the display.

It made me feel soooooo proud!!!! My little boys artwork was up there on the board, for everyone to see!

So there I was taking pics with my mobile....I'm sure some people thought I was silly, but NO..... Just a Proud Mum of a Artisitc Son!

I am feeling better today, but Dylan isn't. He has woken up with such a bad croupy cough. Had to give him the asthma machine this morning, he was that bad.

He had a tantrum about 1 hr ago, on my bed cause he wanted to play playstation, 20 mins later he fell asleep. My poor little baby boy, not very well today.

Also one of my net friends will be here soon. We met a little while ago. She has been away in NZ getting married. I can't wait to see her. We get on like a house on fire, and i have missed her so much!

! Well it wasn't the best day today. Woke up about 7.30 and felt real yuck. Went to wake the kids up, they wouldn't get up either, and we're saying they weren't feeling the best either.

So, I decided to let them stay home and I went back to bed. We all got up around 9, then did some housework. Got them bathed and in warm clothes.

To finish the day off, around midday we all sat down and watched Anne of Green Gables together....... AWWWW HOW SWEET!

   Yes, it's my birthday.....1 year closer to the big 30!

I am having a lovely day. I got a cuppa in bed this morning, after I woke up from a pleasant sleep at 9.30am.

My mum and sister dropped in about 10.30am, and surprised me with a big bunch of beautiful flowers and a chocolate mud birthday cake. It was yum... Shanae especially liked it, and after her 1st piece she was wanting more! My mum and sis gave me a book, which I can't wait to read.

I have also had some lovely birthday wishes in my lounge, from some of my Minti friends. Thanks so much everyone, you make me feel very special! I also had a surprising interstate phone call this morning on my mobile, from my Minti friend Cristlyn.

As we get older, birthdays don't seem that much of a big deal like when we were little, it's just another day BUT......... a birthday wish while chatting, a text message, a phone call or a card, it's family and friends that remembered you and sent their birthday wishes to you, that makes you day that EXTRA bit special!

Yesterday my boy Dylan, had his 1st visit to the dentist. He had a hole in his bottom back molar.

I thought he would go absoultely nuts??? BUT..... he got up in the dentist chair, and the dentist went to work on his sore tooth. After the dentist put the numbing paste on, she then gave him in the needle in his gum. She then proceeded to pick all the crap out, drill and fill it.

He did have a slight moment there, when she was drilling the tooth that he got a little uneasy and a few moans came out, but overall he was BRILLIANT!  After all he's only 4!

I was so proud of him, he was so brave!  And last night, was the 1st in a few nights, where him and myself had a unbroken's nights sleep! YAY

We have to go back this friday, for another appointment. I hope it goes as well as yesterday........

Today, I spent most of the day with my rellies ( dad's side ). They live on the other side of town, so I don't get to see them much.

I throughly enjoyed that day. We were all so happy to see one another and catch up. We had a lovely lunch, followed by a yummy piece of cake.... which Shanae ate half of my sister's!!!

We took happy snaps all day long, and to make it extra special we had a 4 generation photo. My nana, dad, Shanae and me. A photo I will treasure forever!

Looking back on today, it really made me appreciate family more, and how I should really make more of a effort to see them, more often.

Hi Minti friends

My Nana turned 80 last sunday. Tomorrow Shanae, my sis and I are going out to lunch with her and my dad's side of the family.

So I decided to scrap her a page, of a photo taken awhile ago of her and Shanae. It took me 5 hours to do, but I'm so happy with the finished product. I was trialling the stitch effect, and I think it payed off. Looks good to me!

I so hope she likes it????

I've just about had enough of Lachlan getting in trouble, so I approached the head of the Special Dept if she knew what was happening, and why?

Also... Lachlan got in trouble again yesterday for yelling at his teacher, which I don't agree with, but I wanted to know why he screamed at her???

It ends up, she wanted him to copy something from the blackboard, but for the life of him he wouldn't! So the head of the S-Dept was called up to settle him down.5 mins later, after she talked to him, he told her that it's to hard and thats why he couldn't do it.

Now I'm not saying the teacher deserved to be screamed at, but she knows he has a disability and he has trouble. Could she not take 5 mins outta her precious time, to just nicely explain it to him. Lachlan gets very agitated and cranky when he can't do something, if he said he couldn't do it then WHY push the issue that far, that he gets into a rage about it!!!

I know he has to learn, and being in a mainstream class, the teacher can't spend 1 on 1 time with him for very long at all, also I know he can't talk to her like that.

I just wish she would have a little more understanding of who Lachlan is!

I just got soooo upset today talking to her, I was in tears.  

WHY aren't there MORE teachers trained and qualified in area's for children with disabilites and learning problems?

WHY should he get in trouble for something he can't understand? If he can't understand it.... or it's too hard.... then how can he do it?

WHY do I feel like Lachlan is being victimised/picked on???... whatever you want to call it!

I have had Lachlan, everyday this week not wanting to get outta bed. Saying he hates school and his teacher. 

Am I being stupid? Over reacting to much?

I just feel so SAD!

Well I was having a reasonably good day until..... my hubby rang me from his work and said he'd hurt himself.

I was like OMG, what has he done?

He was welding as usual, and his back just seized up! He couldn't bend over, had trouble walking. He advised me, they would be taking him down to the company's work doctor. He would ring when he knew something.

So 1hr later, he rings me back. Seems he has either pinched a nerve OR put his back out. Poor darling, he came home looking in so much pain! Was hard to not feel sorry for him.

I got my wheat pack out, warmed it up and sent him to bed. Mind you, I had to help him get his boxers on!!!

So.... while I sit here and type my blog, he's happily sleeping pain-free for the moment.

Yes, it's Mother's Day!

I have had a  great day so far. I got to sleep in YAY!!! I also received some lovely gifts from the kids and hubby. I got a beautiful plant with these gorgeous little pink flowers.

But.... the most treasured gifts, were from the boys. Joshua made me a lovely card from school, telling me I was the BEST mother in the world! (AWW i nearly cried!), Lachlan gave me 3 beautiful beaded bracelets which he picked himself from the mothers day stall at school. I'm wearing them today. And Dylan made me a very colouful bookmark from kindy.

Also, i get the night off cooking, which will be nice.

Yes, my big boy Josh came home from camp today and boy is he TIRED!

During the day, while on camp he participated in canoeing, rock climbing, raft building and also went on a Giant Swing.

In the evenings, the kids went on night walk to search trees for koala's and owl's.

His 2 favourite things were rock climbing and canoeing. He had a ball.

I was so excited when i picked him up from school this arvo. Although it was peaceful without him, i'm glad that he's home.

This morning, my 9yr old son Joshua, left for his 1st school camp.

About 50-60 excited Yr 5's were waiting for their coach to arrive, that would take them on 3 days of  NO SCHOOL and a little freedom. 

Though I could not help but a shed a few tears as he left. I'M A SOOK!

Hope he has loads and fun!

Hi all

YAY. Last night I wrote 3 parts to my advice on PDD (Pervasive Developmental Disorder), as my son has it.

I felt so overwhelmed to write this advice, as many people don't know what it is. But... at the same time I was scared to write it as well. Thanks to a few Minti friends that helped me, I got my advice out there. THANKS GIRLS, you know who you are!

It helps me to talk about it, and reliving the past 3 yrs brought out a few tears. But if my advice helps someone out there have a better understanding of PDD, then the tears I have shed will have been worth it.

Hi all

I had the worst afternoon today!

Picked the 2 boys up fom school! To walk down to the school, i put one of those safety wrist straps on my 4 yr old Dylan, as he always runs away from me. I carry Shanae down, so it is a little hard to run after him if he takes off! Well he took the strap off this arvo, and ran like HELL. I then caught him and put the strap back on and..........he screamed like hell, SO EMBARRASSING!!!

If he didn't run off on me all the time, i wouldn't have to use the strap! But everytime he says, "I won't run off mum", he always does. I just wish he'd learn not to do it! It's like a game to him, which ain't funny. I have tried explaining to him someone could grab him OR he could get lost, and i wouldn't know where he is..... but he just keeps on doing it!

And better yet to make my afternoon even better,  I had to go to Coles to grab a few things. Put him in the trolley, to save another running off incident, and he screamed all the way through Coles too. His 2 older brothers also thought they try the running off trick! NOT FUNNY

So there i was standing in the middle of Coles, and all i wanted to do was SCREAM, SIT ON THE FLOOR AND JUST CRY!

Also, you then have everyone looking!!!! ( which doesn't really bother me anymore).

I MEAN HASN'T ANYONE EVER SEEN A CHILD THROWING A TANTRUM????

I NEED A HOLIDAY!
