| Dave and Leannika |
Hi all
I'm a 30 year old mum of a three year old boy named Zaide and a one year old girl named Leannika. My partner and I have been together for four years and have no plans for marriage, we're happy as we are.
We also have three cats - which sometimes can be major pains. They're our family we had to blend to live together because one was originally mine and the other two were my partner's. We also have a cockatiel, two guinea pigs, a rabbit and two goldfish.
We live in Tassie, and I can't believe after 30 years I'm still here since I absolutely hate being cold!!! Don't think I could live anywhere else though since all my family is here, would cost me too much to travel to visit them if we moved and I don't think my Mum would let me go and take her grandchildren away from her anyway!!
I love spending time with our children, I'm a stay at home mum and my partner works full time in a call centre, he was very lucky because he worked at the Telstra call centre that was closed down but he got a job at the Westpac call centre and started there as soon as Telstra closed. So far he loves the job so much more than he did at Telstra and he actually comes home happy, but that will probably change once the novelty wears off lol!! In my spare time, when I find some lol, I love beading and sell some pieces but nowhere near as much as I make!! My partner keeps saying that one day it's going to take over the house!! My website address is http://www.kreatedbykel.com I have also started up selling clothes for a new party plan company called Cute, Sweet & Cheap Clothing who sell womens and ...

Lol, I've come in to finally do my blog and had just done a heap and just lost it all!!!! Now to start again!
Both the kids have had their birthdays since my last blog. Zaide is now 3, he didn't have a party this year but he had a great day. He loved his drumkit (so does Leannika now lol!) and we took him to McDonald's for tea, the first time he had eaten there - even though he played more than he ate! He decided after he finished his tea he wanted an ice cream, but when we got it he didn't want it so Leannika enjoyed eating it for him :)
Leannika turned 1 in June. She had a huge day, we had playgroup at the school until 10:30 and then we were off to a big indoor kids play centre for mums group. We left there at about 1:30 and luckily she fell asleep on the way home and slept until 3:30, just in time for her party at 4! She was such a good girl for having such a big day.
I'm an Aunty now as well! My sister and her husband had their first bub on the 5th of July. Lily Jean weighed 6lb 15oz, only one ounce more than Leannika! She is a gorgeous little girl, Zaide and Leannika adore her. Zaide wants to kiss her all the time and "help" look after her and as soon as she cries or makes a noise Leannika rushes over to see what's wrong and to give her a cuddle.
Zaide's bedroom is all done and he's settled back in there. We are in the process of doing the small hallway to our room and Leannkia's room at the moment. They were stripped, a new window was put in Leannika's room and they have been plastered. We were going to replace the carpet in Leannika's room, but when we pulled it up the floorboards are in fantastic condition so we're going to polish them instead since our bedroom, Zaide's bedroom and the small hall all have polished boards. I have finished painting Leannika's room and have just got the walls in the hall to go. I've done it all myself too, Dave hates painting and I love it - but I'm a bit over it now lol! Dave is getting the sander today to sand back the boards so hopefully she will be in her own room soon! It will be great to have that extra room in our bedroom back again!
We have also had our roof removed and replaced so that was a big job. Luckily we didn't have to do it though lol! I was glad when that was finished, I was over the banging and clanging coming from up there lol.
I haven't been doing any clothes parties lately, not that I've had time to do them! I am going to get back into it again soon though, we have a special on for hostesses until the end of September so I've got to get out there and get the word out lol! I have been doing heaps of jewellery stuff though, it's been great to have the new site to put it all on and it's so much easier to control than the old setup I had. I am looking into making pens at the moment as well as placemats, wine stoppers, cushions, candle holders and a few other things. It's just a matter of sourcing what I want to make them. I will just be making a few of all of them to start with to see how they sell and if they go well I will make them a permanent thing. My new website is www.kreatedbykel.com and I have done most of it myself! I still have some stuff to do with it but it's getting there.
Well I should go for now and get my terrors some food lol! That's the majority of what we've been up to, but I'm sure if I thought about it there's a lot more too! Hope you all have a great day and I will have to not leave it as long next time :)

I have just been really busy lol!
I promise I'll be back to do a full update later, I just logged on and Leannika has woken up so I'm about to go and get her up.
We have been busy with renovations and I have built a brand new website for my jewellery :) the address is www.kreatedbykel.com . I still have a few things to do on it but am happy I have got it as far as I have with minimal help from anyone, especially since I've never built a website before!
Well I'm off to get my little miss up now, I will be back either later today or tonight for a better update. Hope you are all well :) |

Zaide decided to give me a major scare on Sunday. Dave was at work doing overtime so I was at home with both the kids. I went to the toilet at one stage and came back out to get Leannkia's lunch ready when I noticed the glass door was open. When I left Zaide was sitting on his couch watching a movie so I came in and checked and he wasn't there. Then I realised the side gate was open!! So I ran out onto the deck and sang out to him, then realised he might be inside somewhere else, so I came in and had a look, then I went and looked everywhere in the yard and in the shed and was half way out the gate before I remembered I'd left the door open and Leannika could get out! So I came back and shut the door then went out the front to look for Zaide.
The first place I looked was next door as we know them and their kids trampoline is in their front yard, but he wasn't there so I was going to head down to the corner shop next when a car pulled up and a girl asked me if I was looking for a little boy. So I said yeah and she said they had seen him around the corner. So I started running to the corner towards the shop.....and they drove the other way towards the school!! So I stopped and turned around as they pulled up and I heard one of them say "No, get off the road quick!!" And she got out of the car and got him and I met her just before her car. I don't know where exactly he was on the road because I couldn't see him for parked cars, but it was on a crest so I'm trying not to think what could have happened if another car had have come the other way!! I think I will have a heart attack if I think about that too much!!
As soon as I took him off the girl I just kept saying how he shouldn't go anywhere without Mummy or Daddy and he should never go near the road or he might get hit by a car. Then we came home and I had a big talk with him - as much as you can with a nearly 3 year old - and for the rest of the day he kept giving me cuddles and kisses. And when Dave got home from work he kept doing it to him as well. I think at the end if it all he probably scared himself as much as he scared me!! And through all this he had no shoes on either! He had crossed our road to get as far as he did, we are extremely lucky we live in a small dead end street - but if he had headed for the shop then that is on the main road! I don't think I've taken my eyes off him since!! He gets it from me though, I used to run away all the time when I was little, Mum said the first time she can remember me doing it I was only about 18 months old!!
It's Zaide's 3rd birthday tomorrow and I've just finished making the cakes I need to make him a guitar cake! I thought I was going to get out of it easy since I asked him if he wanted a drum cake and he said yes, but then he was looking at the cake book and saw the guitar and changed his mind! So now I've got to make this huge cake and he's not even having a party lol! We have decided that since he's only had Maccas about 6 times in his whole life and he's never eaten in we're going to take him there for tea. We've got him a drumkit, so what little peace I do get will be gone tomorrow lol!!
We have finished painting his room as well, but I don't have pics yet and he's not in there yet because we're waiting on the guys that put the window in to come and do the surrounds so we can do the skirtings, the window meets the floor so we can't do the skirtings until the window is done. Then we just have to varnish and put the curtains up and he will be in there.
Poor little Leannkia has a cold. She woke up with it this morning after having a bad night so I've been wiping her nose all day - which she hates - and she's been coughing away. I'm not expecting to get much sleep tonight either!! At least I will be up early for Zaide's birthday lol!! |

We were going to paint the ceiling in Zaide's room last night once the kids were in bed again, but Zaide decided to fall asleep yesterday afternoon while Leannika was down for her nap so we got it done before they both woke up. It's a light cream/yellow colour and all the ceilings through the whole house will be the same colour once we get around to them lol! Now we just have to do the walls and then Dave can get to work on the skirtings and we can get the guy to come back and put the surrounds around the new window. Can't put curtains up until that's done lol!
Leannika's 10 months old today. She is being a pain too lol, she just wants to stand up all the time but then once she's up she can't get down again! Her favourite place to go and do it is at the guinea pig's cage, so she's always out there, and after a while the crying starts and one of us have to rescue her lol! |
