wow, i never realized how SATURATED the internet is when it comes to marketing, until now. now, because i have my own website and am researching ways to market it, get it seen and drive traffic to it. advertising is EXPENSIVE- stats i've read about online advertising spending are amazing. i think it has now surpassed TV advertising. i have a new logo, as i'm ever-creating new ones that will hopefully grab attention...

my website is baby/toddler/kid-focused re: shopping, and of course that segment of online shopping is really crowded. but i have to find a way to set my site apart, because it really is different in that it's a SPECIFIC directory for unique items- not Babies-R-Us-type-stuff (not that there's anything wrong with that place; it's great). it showcases stuff that you don't find often or easily, brings the stores that sell such merchandise to ONE place on the web, AND doesn't just list the stores by name/logo/description but actually DISPLAYS the merchandise- real online window shopping. and some stores represented give my guests special discounts, so that's cool. so i'm off to research other advertising avenues (that don't cost an arm and a leg!)... |
