My (step)son's name is Juan. Truth be known, I never would have named him that, but I guess it's unique in Brazil anyway. (Where he was named.) We're always having trouble with friends and relatives wanting to spell it "Ruan" though. (An "r" at the beginning of a word in Brazilian Portuguese is pronounced like an "h".) Anyway...
Yesterday the pest guy and the cable guy came. Our ants were back and our phone and internet were too expensive! So the first guy comes, he's hispanic and the name on his shirt says...Juan. (Hey, I know a Juan!) He does his thing, leaves, and then I sit waiting for cable. Luckily, the cable guy called to come earlier than scheduled. Yay! I got to talking to him and even though he wasn't hispanic (just from Grenada. gotta check that on a map! everyone around here is from a different Caribbean island!) his name, too, is...Juan! So I guess if anybody comes to do anything to my house I should just call them Juan.
The best part is internet and phone are gonna be about $50 cheaper a month now! (Thanx Juan #3!) AND long distance phone calls are included in the price. A good thing when you live on the opposite side of the country from all your friends and relatives! |
