urn water garden

Comment Published at 03:1703:171 comments1 comments27 Visits27 VisitsReport

Shifting house left me with an urn no longer useful as a house ornament.  Initially I placed it in the garden.  It looked stylish but I felt disappointed that it did not offer more.  In the back of my mind I remembered  seeing an urn used to house goldfish.  I sealed the pot, purchased plants and fish.  The pet shop staff were able to give me more information and my 2 small goldfish have been in their new home now for 5 weeks and they have 2 doting owners.

A week at Rottnest

Comment Published at 03:5603:563 comments3 comments53 Visits53 VisitsReport

Rotnest is a small island ten k's off Fremantle.  West Australians love to holiday on the Island. There are  mooring sights for pleasure craft and holiday chalets for hire.  Cycling, snorkling and fishing are very popular with holiday makers.  The pelican pictured became very interested in us when we were catching herring off the back of the boat while moored in Thomson Bay.   The crayfish were very abundant  on the south side of the Island and we put our pots in at Strickland Bay.   Bad weather forced us home but we had managed to have 7 great days of swimming, paddling and generally chilling out.
