UK removed The Holocaust from its school curriculum ?! well if so - SHAME! SHAME! SHAME!

I am copying and pasting an email I got just now. I havn't changed a word:

Subject:: Never Forget-- With pictures

Careful... some graphic photos. But very important to read the words!

U.S.soldier surveys a German concentration camp

[/>

It is a matter of history that when Supreme Commander of the Allied Forces, General Dwight Eisenhower, found the victims of the death camps, he ordered all possible photographs to be taken, and for the German people from surrounding villages to be ushered through the camps and even made to bury the dead.

[/>

He did this because he said in words to this effect: 'Get it all on record now - get the films - get the witnesses - because somewhere down the track of history some b*stard will get up and say that this never happened'

'All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing'

Edmund Burke

[/>

This week, the UK removed The Holocaust from its school curriculum because it 'offended' the Muslim population which claims it never occurred.

This is a frightening portent of the fear that is gripping the world and how easily each country is giving in to it.

[/>

These photos were taken inGermanyby James Emison Chanslor, an Army Master Sergeant who served in World War II from 1942 until 1945.

It is now more than 60 years after the Second World War in Europe ended.

This e-mail is being sent as a memorial chain, in memory of the

six million Jews, 20 million Russians, 10 million Christians and 1,900 Catholic priests who were murdered, massacred, raped, burned, starved and humiliated with people looking the other way!

Now, more than ever, with Iran, among others, claiming the Holocaust to be 'a myth,' it is imperative to make sure the world never forgets.

This e-mail is intended to reach 40 million people worldwide!

Be a link in the memorial chain and help distribute this around the world.

Don't just delete this. It will only take a minute to pass this along.

Can I just say that this is so untrue it is positively mischevious. It is a hoax e-mail that has been around for quite a while. The U.K curriculum teaches a broad based History and reguardless of the topics one chooses to teach the Holocaust is alway's covered, whether it be European History, WW History, Russian History or American History, the links to anti semitism and the horror of the genocide of a peacefull people is alway's worked into the equation. Lest we forget what all nations in an Historical Context turned a blind eye to.

There was a review of the curriculum back in 2007 which found that some teachers were skimmimng the subject due to the numbers of children who came from an Islamic background, this was a lack of confidence on subject matter by Non History teachers. The review is set to address the situation to give all teachers a more positive footing in this important topic. Some teachers felt that it was a history teachers job to focus on the Holocaust. However the horror of the situation dictates that the events should be covered in as many topics as appropriate. There fore it can be studied in English through the vast amounts of poetry that were written by victims and survivors. Belive me when I say the British public in general would not stand for the holocaust to be removed from there childrens education.

Best wishes Luv Winnie.xxxx

If it is true then that is a real shame. But what's even more of a shame is that people still don't do anything about today's current genocides.

It is a shame....those poor people shoud always be remembered for enduring such GREAT travisty of justice. How would U.S. citizens feel if the world was saying that 9/11 never occured and order all of that history to be reomved....we would be outraged.....Thanks for the reminder.

My Dad is HUGE of history he LOVES it. He was in a check out lane and the amdazine in the rack had some of those picutres and the anme of one of the camp, Aswhitch (I KNOW I am speelign that wrong) Teh girl checking him out had NO idea what the picutres were depitcing OR the fact that over 6 million Jewish individual had been murdered and slaughtered.....SOO SAD......
