Hello Tashinga!  Well,we seem to forget as we do go on and have other children so if it was that bad we wouldn't!!  You'll be fine,,just don't get all ahead of yourself.  You'll find plenty of woman to tell you horror stories I will tell you how wonderful it is to hold your new baby and plan for the future!

Hey,

Congrats on having a boy. I just had my 1st on saturday morning and it was very painful but i cant remember the bad stuff just the pain of the contractions. I think our brains blank out the bad things. It very rewarding in the end but not something i want to go through again..

Congrats on the baby boy. Yes labour is painful especially if you have a very long labour. I would suggest pain relief. Its pretty bad :(

Congratulations on your baby boy.... As everyone has said talk to your midwife about pain relief options, I went with the gas and surprised that i didnt ask for something stronger. As my pain threshold isnt very high but it is completely different to other sorts of pain

Hard to describe.

Re: OH BY THE WAY ITS A BOY

A boy congrats....   labour can be painful.. depends on your pain thresh hold.   I was induced and apparently that is more painful than just having your baby natural!    As Annie said go with the flow.  Speak to your midwife about pain releif options the pros and cons.   You might suprize yourself and need nothing at all.

Let us know how your going.  Take care - Angie

Congrats!  And yes, it can be very painful during labour and birth, but talk with your midwife team about your pain relief options and they will help you to decide what is best for you.

You are a little way off yet, but should be getting some discomfort etc, so breathe through those painful times, it will help to get your breathing ready for the big event.

Re: OH BY THE WAY ITS A BOY

hi

congratulations on your pregnancy

sounds like its your first . as you still have three months to go i wouldnt worry about the birth yet.

jut remember a couple of things everyones birthing experience is different and everyone relating  their experience is different everyones pain threshhold is different the mind is remarkable and really  some people see a glass half full others see it half empty

it is the way we view a sitaution that makes a difference

i had an epidural and forceps with the first and even though it was harder than the natural birth (no assistance whatsover as i went through stage 1 through home he came within the half hour of arriving at hospital ) i found the natural birth more painful but i would do it all again in a flash.

over thousands of years women have given birth and especially pre hospital days without any pain relievers

when the time comes your doctor will know best and you will look at your son and he will ease any pain if any you have experienced

the best advice i can offer you is "go with the flow"

cheers annie
