The Roomba is here...THANK YOU MINTI!

This post is from from my other blog here

RoombaIT'S HERE, IT'S FINALLY HERE!!!   Yes, that's right.  The roomba I won from minti has finally arrived.  Well, it actually arrived on Friday, but I have been a bit under the weather lately and haven't had a chance to post.

What a wonderful invention!  After charging it all night, I enjoyed my morning coffee watching it zip around the house.  I must say, it really does a nice job!  The kids LOVE it!  The cat and dogs, on the other hand, are still a bit unsure.  It does a great job of picking up all that hair.  Blech, I hate animal hair.

So, how can you win a roomba?  All you have to do go join minti.  Don't worry, it's free!  Once you've joined, you can read parenting advice, ask for parenting advice, start a blog, vote on advice, join a group...the possibilities are endless!  I must warn you, however, it is quite addictive.  The wonderful folks at minti give away a Roomba each month to the members who are most active.  If I can win one anyone can!  What do you have to lose...dirty floors?   And again, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU MINTI!  My floors have never looked better :)

Sorry this is late coming, but well done! I live my Minti (Roomba) and would have seriously sruggled with all the dust and grime here with the builders around without it. Hope you have as much fun with it as we still do with ours. Very well earnt.

I touched a Roomba
I saw them at Dick Smith Powerhouse so I had to pick one up look at it up close. $399 is a lot for something so small but what I saw was pretty amazing.
Just think with a Roomba you could spend so much more time in here . My wife can't justify buying one but she has seen me buy too many gadgets that breal after a few months. I can't convine her that the Roomba is not a gadget and she is the bread winner in the family so I have to either win one or earn one. One thing is for sure I will eventually get one .

Tell your wife that from one woman to another, this is no gadget!  It really works and would be well worth the investment :)

Very exciting. Congratulations again on your win.

So far my power pack has arrived (needed a different one here in Australia). I am still waiting for my Roomba to arrive. It is coming from the US.

I'm pleased to hear it works well on the pet hair. I have two little dogs and I am really looking forward to watching them chase it around. We plan on having the video camera handy. I am sure Zali will try and bite it.

A few friends have said they will wait and see how mine goes on the wooden floors and then they may buy one for themselves. I have heard really good things about the roomba.

Minti is really addictive isn't it. When I won my Roomba my husband said it just went to prove his point that I spend too much time on Minti.

My Roomba arrived 10 minutes ago. It does not have an instruction book. Did yours? I have put it on to charge for the 16 hours that the sticker says and will have to buy some batteries to go with the remote and other bits. I hope they have the instruction book on the roomba site. I shall check shortly - after Minti of course.

forget what I said about no manual. Dopey Dora just found it fitted into the outside of the lid of the foam box. Guess i should have packed it up properly a few hours ago instead of leaving it on the kitchen table.

Yesterday I shut the lounge room doors so the dogs couldn't see it  and it vacuumed in there. It stopped after about an hour to recharge itself. Today we got the video camera out and put it on in the dinning room with the dogs present. We were a bit disappointed by their reactions. Zac ignored it completly and Zali was only a bit curious. We were sure before hand that she would try to attack it or something but she didn't. It has just stopped to recharge itself so we will see if it starts back up again afterwards or if it has finshed the room. It seemed to do a good job on the floors though.

Yeah, our dogs pretty much ignore it as well.  It can't "get them" up on their dog bed.  The cat, on the other hand, is intrigued and likes to attack the little brush that circulates outside...pretty funny to see :)
