Me and My Family

Cheeky boy

My name is Teshia, I am married to a wonderful man (James) with 2 sons - Jack born July 2005, and Oscar born January 2007. Both of our sons are very active young boys. We live practically in the middle of nowhere on a property that James works on on the border of South Australia and Victoria & we love it. There is a small town (with about 10 houses in it) just down the road with a great pub, general store & primary school. The nearest shopping centre is 45kms away and we wouldn't have it any other way. James works very long hours (can be 16 hour days 7 days a week) 9 months of the year so we don't see a lot of him sometimes which can be hard on us all. Our boys are very much outside kids & love playing with our animals - we have 6 dogs & breed Jack Russells so we quite often have pups too, 8 chickens, 2 roosters and a goose. We love the country life & can't imagine living in a town of any size.

I also run a business from home - which can be hard at times with the kids but I really enjoy it! The company is great & I am really enjoying building a business. You can check it out at the website

Song to Lift Me

Comment Published at 16:0416:041 comments1 comments17 Visits17 VisitsReport

All you have to do is think of a song that you enjoy listening to when you need a lift

Blog about it, heading your blog:

Song to Lift Me Tag

If you can add it to your blog for us all to listen.......bonus!!!!

Explain why it lifts you, is it the lyrics, is it the tune, does it symbolise something to you.............

Then tag two other members to do the same: Mail them so they know they are tagged

Come on  these games are fun and we all learn a little more about each other too!!!!

Have fun!

The song that lifts me is Breathe by Faith Hill. The reason being it was our wedding song - the we walked into the room to. Nobody knew our wedding was a wedding....we had and engagement party at my mum's motel that started at 6pm and at ten past 7 my sister (she was my maid of honour) and I walked out to get changed, just after we did James and his best mate went to the motel room to change and stood outside waiting to be told to come in. The Celebrant came in and took over from the band saying he was a story teller & had a great story to tell - that this wasn't just an engagement party, but it was our wedding. Everyone was gobsmacked and so emotional...it was fantastic and so relaxed! Not sure about the video I have but it's the best audio I found:

The song lifts me up because it brings back that amazing evening filled with emotion and happiness - the best day of my life before my children were born....and they wouldn't be here without it! Ok, it does bring tears to my eyes instantly but I feel amazing for the rest of the day. If by some chance this one doesn't lift me then Stone Cold by Jimmy Barnes does as that was our Wedding Dance song!

I'll tag Jessgore & mom2jedd

I'm not!

Comment Published at 14:2114:2110 comments10 comments56 Visits56 VisitsReport

My profile says I'm 31 - when did that change? I'm not 31 until Thursday! My body is trying to tell me I'm old so please don't change my age before time! HAHA!

I love being in my 30s, but today my body feels like it's falling apart after a full on weekend at work running the restaurant for our towns Folk Festival....I am more than happy to admit to my age at any time, but I don't wanna be made out to be older than I am, ROFL! My left hip is going, I'm having so much trouble with it. I got to the Chiropractor a few weeks ago but haven't been able to get back and boy do I need it. My left ankle is playing up badly from being on my feet all weekend - it plays up regularly but now I feel like my left side is giving up on me...and I'm left handed!

So please, please don't make me 31 today...wait until Thursday and I will happily admit to it!

What a weekend!

Comment Published at 20:1420:147 comments7 comments29 Visits29 VisitsReport

Our weekend was awesome! My dad was here from Monday until this morning - he watched the kids while I cooked and decorated our friends, Stacey and Dan, wedding cake during the week and then stayed here with the kids on the weekend while James and I went to Murray Bridge for the wedding. I can tell you it wasn't great transporting a wedding cake in the car for 2 1/2 hours in 40 degree heat, but we got it there safely and put it together at Dundee's (that's where the reception was held) before finding a motel in Murray Bridge and getting ready for the wedding.

The wedding was in a really nice garden overlooking the Murray River - quite appropriate since the bride's surname is now Murray, LOL! The groomsmen looked smart in their black pants, shoes and black pinstripped shirts, the Bridesmaids look fantastic in their black dresses and Stacey looked amazing in her gorgeous white dress and veil! Everything went off beautifully and the reception was fantastic with great food and company.

James and I had a lovely weekend away by ourselves and got home around 2.30pm Sunday to happy kids and dad. Here are a few photos of the lovely day.

The Bridal party and the view from the gardens:

the happy couple - I love the emotion in Dan's face...I've never seen a groom so emotional!:

Me and Stacey - not a good one of me but a good one of Stace:

My creation - the wedding cake:

I hope everyone else had a great weekend xxoo
