Not Sleeping!

Comment Published at 01:0301:034 comments4 comments11 Visits11 VisitsReport
Jack decided yesterday he didn't want his afternoon sleep, and again today! He's not 2 yet (well he is in 3 weeks)! I usually get things done while he's asleep, or have a rest myself - when am I going to do this now!!!!!! Oh well, I guess it had to happend eventually. lol. One thing I suppose is he's going to bed earlier. Well, off to get dinner - then an early night for one little boy!

Re: Not Sleeping!
I always involve mine in the chores and have done from day dot.  She never slept in the day so I had to involve her or just get nothing done LOL.  Now she's nearly 4 and she makes her bed, vaccuums her floor, puts the dishes away when I put them on the bench for her, wipes up any spills, scrapes her dishes into the bin then puts them on the sink, wipes down the benches etc, sweeps up the piles of dirt with the dustpan and brush when I've swept.  Other things too I'm sure but can't think of right now.  Of course I would never force her to do it if she didn't want to but if I ask her if she wants to, the answer is always an enthusiastic "YES!" from her.  Maybe you should get him involved in all the daily chores and before you know it you'll have a real little helper there.  Toddlers LOVE to help mum with the cleaning or whatever it is you are doing so take advantage while you can as they soon outgrow it and don't want to help with anything

Re: Not Sleeping!
Thanks! He does love to help & gets into the vacuuming & dusting and all that stuff. We usually do all that in the morning, and then in the afternoon when he was having his nap I would do the things that he couldn't really help with - like paperwork - or just relax myself. We've decided not to force the sleep issue & just put him to bed at 7.30 instead of 8.30 if he doesn't have a nap - seems to be working so far.
