Another busy weekend - but nice one

by tooshComment Published at 14:5014:504 comments4 comments22 Visits22 VisitsReport
Well after a flat out week it's been a nice weekend even if it was busy!
Jack's face is all cleared up now thank goodness, no scaring, just the remnants of a black eye left. Sorry I haven't got any photos up but they wouldn't upload! Oscar has almost got his top 2 front teeth through - I noticed yesterday they are all white & almost through his gums, no wonder he's been cranky & not sleeping the best!
My dad came on Saturday & so did my little sister and her boyfriend (my dad isn't her dad). My sis and her bf stayed the night and left Sunday after lunch, dad is still here - well he is out today & has taken Jack with him, they have gone to get my pa & take him for a drive around to look at everyone's crops then get him fitted for a suit for my stepbrother's wedding in January. Then they are both staying here tonight & going home tomorrow. Pa hasn't seen Oscar in person yet so it will be great. I feel terrible that he hasn't seen him as he only live 1/2 hour away - I just never seem to find time to get over there!
I am going into town today with a friend to look after her daughter and drive her home as she is getting an Implanon put in. They have 4 children and her husband decided a few weeks ago he would like 2 more! She said "no way!", and he said "well if you don't do anything to stop it I aint gonna put anything on!" PMSL! He got a bit upset when she said she got a script and was getting the implant in but she was really sick with the last one and said she won't do it again, which I can understand.
we are so busy from now until the end of January! Harvest has started so James won't be home much for the next few months - the kids will hate it. Dad & I took them out to the paddock yesterday and dad & Jack jumped on the header with James for half and hour. Dad was amazed as when he drove a header years ago it was all manual & everything is computerised and air conditioned now! Jack had a ball - he has always loved getting there with James for a while, I think I could leave him there for a few hours and he'd be happy!
We have a first birthday party this Sunday for a friends daughter, then we are off to Adelaide with Mum & my stepdad Mick the next Saturday to do a little shopping, take the kids to the Wiggles concert & stay with my uncle and his gf. The on the 14th the kids and I are going to stay with Dad in Bendigo for a week so we can have an early Christmas with dad & Judy and spend some time with them. While we are there we are going Melbourne for a night & taking the kids to the zoo for day, and dad has an appointment with one of his specialists. My best friend and her daughter are also coming to Melbourne to see us & coming to the zoo - we haven't seen each other since they moved about 4 months ago so it will be fantastic! Then of course we have Christmas (James gets Christmas day & Boxing day off thank god!) at my uncle & aunties across the paddock. The Oscar's 1st birthday on the 12th of January - big party! Then on Australia day weekend we are all off to Adelaide to my stepbrother's wedding! Oh so busy!

I have to go now, but I must say a quick GOOD LUCK to Nat (winja) for tomorrow - if Tobi doesn't come before! I love you hunni and I hope everything goes really well!

Have a great week everyone & hopefully I get to chat to you all at some stage.

What a weekend!

Well, as some of you know the kids and I went to my Mum & stepdad's house for the weekend. It was hot and sticky and we were looking forward to having a nice time and going to the Christmas parade and doing some shopping. We left Friday after playgroup and lunch with James. We were going to Mount Gambier with Mum and Mick Saturday morning to take the boys to the Christmas parade & meet up with my little sis then do some shopping as James needed some clothes.
James was working the bar at a wedding Saturday night & stayed home. Saturday morning we were getting ready to go & I went out to get the car seats in mum & Mick's Nissan Patrol. They had let Jack climb into the back seat & he was in there playing with Mick close by so I went and got the seats out of my car. I put Jack's booster seat in & went around the other side & put Oscar's car seat in, then jumped up into the back so I could clip it to the anchor bolt. Mick was holding Oscar and standing at the back door where Jack was in the car, Jack stuck his head over and asked to come in the back with me and I told him no I was nearly finished & to sit down. I finished getting Oscar's seat in and started to get out of the back, Mick walked around to shut the back doors, then we heard this crash and crying....OMG I ran around the side of the Patrol & there was Jack on the ground (which is blue stone gravel) with his booster seat and blood all over his face & coming out of his mouth! I picked him up & ran to the back door where mum was & she had just locked up so she opened the door and I ran to the bathroom to wash his face to see how badly he was hurt. He had a split lip and grazes all down the right side of his face, the worst bit was right on his hairline. He was hysterical but eventually calmed down and said he wanted to go shopping and see his Auntie Jemma.
Mick was blaming himself and making himself sick with worry, I kept telling him that it wasn't his fault & he kept saying he should have stayed beside him at the door and not moved. Well I should have taken him out when I said he shouldn't be in there, or let him get over the back with me too! Poor little guy. Anyway we decided to go and see how he went, it's a 45 minute drive, and about 10km out the road he started vomiting. Mum was in the back with the boys as Jack wanted her there. We pulled over and I got Jack out as he wanted me, his pupils were fine so we knew there was no concussion but he was quite distressed as he doesn't vomit often and he started to go a bit daze like so we turned around & I made them take us to the hospital just to be sure. He vomited twice more as we were walking into the hospital, right at the entrance! The nurse checked him out and said she thought he was fine but the doc was going to be there in about 1/2 hour so to wait, she walked out then came straight back as the doc had just arrived. He was fantastic and confirmed that there was no concussion, and like us thanked god that the booster seat had fallen with him and saved him from more serious injuries! He sent us home, said if he wanted to sleep that was fine and if we weren't happy with him in the next hour or 2 to bring him back.
After we got back to mum's he slept for 1 1/2 hours and when he woke up he was happy and still wanted to go and see his auntie Jemma so off we went. He had a few small vomits about 15 minutes into the trip but was still happy and wanted to go so we kept going. We had a good few hours shopping and he got spoilt rotten by mum &  Mick as they felt guilty - and they always spoil him! They bought him an emergency vehicle setup with a ramp, garages and 2 fire trucks, and ambulance and a helicopter. Then when we got to Kmart they found a Shrek trike in the bargain bin for $10 as a plastic part was broken & the lady marked it down to $5! The plastic part does nothing but cover where the handle bars go into the front wheel so that was a huge bargain! So now he has a trike for when he goes to nan & pa's and some cars too.
Saturday night we went to a friends house for a bbq & had a nic3e night, mum dropped me and the boys home about 9.45pm and went back & her and Mick got home about 1am. I went shopping in Hamilton on Sunday with my Pa at Aldi and got a boot load of groceries for $142! I couldn't believe how cheap it was! We decided to stay another night and come home Monday so just kicked back and relaxed Sunday arvo.
I was going to put some pics of the boys and of Jack's face here but they won't upload so I will put them in my lounge tomorrow.

Mwah, luv you all xxoo

3 sick males is my house!

Oh wow, they are all sick with the flu! ARG! Jack was funny for most of last week but had no temp, no sore throat (we were worried he was getting tonsilitis again), nothing, then Friday morning he had a runny nose. Saturday morning he woke up with an awful cough and really runny nose. Poor little man was so sick & his nan & pa were coming for the night too! I had to get organised as I had to present my business at the shopping day our playgroup was hosting & James had to leave at 3pm to do bar job at a wedding! I got myself organised eventually & mum & Mick turned up around 4pm - just in time to watch the kids so I could finish everything I needed to.
James got home from the bar job around 2am & when he woke in the morning he had a really sore throat. When he got up he just got worse and worse & he had the flu too! Oscar had a runny nose, I thought "oh no, what do I do? I have to get my business out there today & try and get myself up and running more! Mum and Mick were here so they were able to watch the kids while I loaded the car & made a plate of afternoon tea (actually mum helped me do all that aswell). Mum cam in and helped me set up in the morning & then she cooked us a bbq lunch.
I went into the shopping day 1/2 hour early as I had to take the playgroup cheque book and get  a float organised for the girls on the door. I got to my stand - I was also looking after another stand for Just For Bubs as the lady couldn't come but offered to courier her kit up to me which was great. People seemed to just pass my stands by & not stop to look much & certainly not order anything. I was quite upset about it, but just before I started to pack up at the end of the day I had a few people come over to my Arbonne stand and ask about what it was & order some products! YAY! I also sold a little of the Just For Bubs too.
I am taking my products and the Just For Bubs products to playgroup on Wednesday (some of the mums asked me to) so everyone can have a better look & maybe I will sell some more. Fingers crossed!
James is home from work - asleep on the couch most of the day - and he only ever takes time off work if he's half dead! I so hope I don't get it, I don't know how I'll manage the kids if I do - just have to I guess - but I'm NOT going to get it & that's that!
I hope you all had a great weekend! xxoo
