Wow, this month has gone sooo fast! Jack is 2, Oscar is 61/2 months & saying dad & rolling over all the time! They are growing so fast, it's amazing to watch!
I have my step-brother & dad ringing me asking us to go to the Melbourne cup so we can all catch up & celebrate dad's 50th birthday which is the same day. I would really love to go but James is busy at work then as it is shearing time & the crowds at the cup will be huge & too much with 2 little kids. Jack could stay with my mum so I could go but I would still have to take Oscar as I am feeding him. My step-brother's fiance will be over from London (she lives there but she is French) too as they are getting married in January in Adelaide & she wants to see the place they are getting married & all that stuff before the actual wedding. I would love to see her as I have only met her once & it will be hard to catch up at the wedding, I just think it's too hard with the kids & nobody seems to understand what it will be like there with 1 or 2 little kids!
There is a second wedding in France in October next year which I really want to go to also as I've always wanted to go there & I have a friend there. I speak very limited French as I studied it at school but I am re-learning in case I go. The thing is James won't come as he isn't interested in travelling overseas, he says I can go if I want but he doesn't want me to take the boys with me - even though dad has offered to pay for Jack & Oscar will only be 1 so he shouldn't cost much. He won't say why but I think it's because he thinks I won't go without the boys - which I probably won't as I have trouble leaving them! lol!
I have also just signed up for a home business! Yay! Hopefully I do well, I just have to get myself organinsed & get started.
Well, that's about it today!

Well, Jack has been sick with a cold all week. He woke up better yesterday, then late yesterday afternoon his cheeks & ears got really red & he gave me a cuddle & he was HOT! He had a slight temp - about 38 - so I gave him some Panadol & he eventually laid down (on me) and went to sleep. It was a bit late for his sleep but we let him go as he wasn't well. He slept until about 8pm. We had already had tea & just put his aside for him. When he did wake up he was very sooky & grumpy and didn't want a drink or food or to go to the toilet! After a little while james got him to get up & he found his new toothbrush & wanted to brush his teeth so we let him & he was fine then but wouldn't put the toothbrush down - he even held it while he did a wee! He then sat down & scoffed all his tea, which was nice to see. He went to bed at 9.30 & slept all night until 7am & woke up fine this morning thank goodness!
We had been shopping in Mount Gambier on Thursday - an hour and a half drive - as we all needed some new clothes & James needed a new motorbike helmet & we wanted to go before he goes back to work tomorrow. Then Friday I had a chiropractor appointment & we had to do grocery shopping, then after tea we went round to my uncles place to see them as they've been away on a houseboat - lucky buggers!
Jack had been up at around midnight every night this week & then getting up at 6am when he usually gets up at 7-8am, so we have been very tired! James has helped a lot with the kids during the day, but he hasn't been the one to get up early in the morning! He hasn't really slept but he hasn't got up everyday either! Oscar has really bonded with James now, which is great as he hasn't really spent a lot of time with him since he was born as it has been busy for him at work.
James goes back to work tomorrow & I am at home by myself with the kids again! Going to be a shock after 2 weeks of having him home!
That's my bit for today. Mwah! |

Oscar started saying dad yesterday - on his brothers birthday for everyone to hear! YAY! It was so cute, now he won't stop - lol! He also did a poo & wee in the toilet! I know it sounds silly as he's only six months old but it's true! As some of you know he's been having trouble with his bowels, well he's been wanting to poo at tea time every night & I have to take him out & take his nappy off & listen to him cry while he goes. I said to James last week I was going to start puting him on the toilet when he wants to go & James thought I was mad! hehe! Mum says from 6 months she had to hold me over the toilet as I hated doing poo in my nappy, so I thought maybe Oscar is the same. So, last night when we sat down & started to eat he started to try, off came the nappy & out to the loo we went. I sat him on Jack's seat & he laughed & played with his feet. After a few minutes he started to go - yay - he didn't cry or seem uncomfortable at all, he seemed to like it. Mum reckons he's just like me, so it will be off to the toilet at tea time every night now! Starting early! lol! |

Well, I should be in bed! I'm usually curled up in bed by 9.30! It's Jack's birthday today - well in 7 hours and 50 minutes - and I am cooking his cake for the second time! The first attempt was going well, the cakes came out of the oven well, cooled then tried to put them together (Jack wants a football cake). James decided to help & it ended up falling apart! Being a man he said "just stick it together with icing & cream" - no way! Me being a perfectionist when it comes to cooking had to start all over again & here I am waiting for the cake to cook - will have to decorate it in the morning.
Stay tuned - there will be birthday pics here by Monday! |

It seems my boys are taking it in turns to get me up in the middle of the night! Grrrrr! Thursday night Jack woke me up crying (can't even remember what the time was) and wouldn't settle. He wanted me to get in bed with him so in I jumped. No sleep there, he would alomost be asleep & then sit up & look at me & say "I got mum in my bed!". He went to sleep after about half an hour but I didn't! Wriggle, wriggle! He's getting some teeth - poor little bugger!
Friday night Oscar got up at #.45 for a feed - that was ok - but then just as I was almost asleep started crying & wouldn't settle! Teething, so cruel! I was up with him until 6am, got back to bed & got to sleep then Jack was up at 7.30 (which is normal). James got up with him & let me stay in bed - not that I slept but at least I got a rest I suppose - until Oscar got up at 8.30.
Last night I got a phone call from my cousin that has gone up to my best friends place in Bendigo for the weekend to do a Lorraine Lee Linen Party for her - at 11.30 pm! I am in bed by 10pm at the latest & they know this - grrrrr! They rang the house phone but by the time I got to it they had hung up & were ringing my mobile - a video call! So they are passing the phone around saying "where are you I can't see you properly, it's dark, it's not that late - oops, sorry it is that late, hehe!". There was my cousin, my best friend & her boyfriend (who is my hubbies best mate - I introduced them, seem to be very good at that but that's another story), hubbies other best mates wife & her 10 1/2 month old! What the hell he was doing up at that time of night has got me! I said hello to them all then said seeya & hung up! An hour later Jack was crying his little eyes out, so in I go (hubby hadn't uqite woken up enough to go in) & he wants me to get in his bed again! Great! In I hop - same again - "I got mummy in my bed!". Half an hour & he was asleep, but if I tried to get out so I could sleep he woke up! at about 2.30 Oscar woke up for a feed & Jack actually let me get out of his bed & went to sleep. I fed Oscar and went to my OWN bed to try & sleep! 6am & Jack is crying - AGAIN! Get up, take him to the toilet & he wants to get in "mum's bed" so we get in & he won't sleep, just wriggle & cuddle!
Oh my! The way it's working out Jack will sleep tonight & Oscar won't! I have Oscar on the Brauer Teething Relief now - I swear by it - so maybe he won't wake up screaming! Here's hoping! Might have to dose Jack up on panadol before he goes to bed tonight. Lucky hubby is on 2 weeks holidays now otherwise I don't think I'd survive 2 kids on the amount of sleep I've had in the last 3 days! lol!
Well that's my rant for today - sorry it's so boring! hehe |

Oscar was 6 months old yesterday! Wow that has gone fast! It's amazing watching them learn and do new things everyday - you forget how it all happens sometimes (even when it hasn't been that long since Jack did it all!). He has started pulling funny faces, but it only seems to be at his dad! This has us rolling around laughing - it's so cute! Jack's birthday is coming up fast, we were planning a very small party after his christening, 1st birthday & Oscar's christening turned out to all be about 30 guests, this hasn't happened! We have James' father & younger brother coming to stay & at least 8 other people coming! James has ordered me to BUY the food - party pies & sausage rolls, mini frankfurts, etc - as I usually make everything myself & he doesn't want me to be cooking for 2 days! I am not the kind of person that likes to buy things, I prefer to make things from scratch, but James starts holidays tomorrow & will be making sure I don't! lol! Oh well, at least I get to make the cake! Here's a photo of Oscar at 6 months:

Well, I think we almost have Jack back to sleeping in the afternoon. Afew days of wearing him out has done the trick!
Oscar rolled over for the first time last night! So exciting! He is growing soooo fast! It's all happening too quickly - Oscar is 6 months next Thursday and Jack is 2 on the 21st!
All the pups have been sold already - I put the signs up on Saturday & sold them all by Wed arvo! They are still here for a week and a half to get the best off their mum, then they will be gone (apart from Oscar's puppy of course). I even have an order for the next litter!
Here are some photos of the boys today:
