Happy Birthday to me I guess, huh?
And wow, what a tribute I got.
After a birthday like this one, I feel so loved.
Sigh.

Let's Play Blog Tag! I'm it!

by traceyComment Published at 22:3722:375 comments5 comments339 Visits339 VisitsReport

Hey cool Minti parents-

I have an idea!   Let's play a game of  Minti Blog Tag!

Here's how it works- I have compiled a list of 6 questions to be answered by whoever is tagged. I'll start it off by answering the questions first and then, I'm going to list a few people that I'm tagging to play next. I will send them a Minti Mail letting them know that I've tagged them and will give them the link to my blog post here so they can check out how I did it.  And then they will do the same, etc, etc...

The object of the game is to get us posting some fun stuff on our Minti blogs, get to know each other a little better and have some fun while we're at it!!

Here goes:

1. What's your child's favorite book? There are many more than one but some of her favorites have been Eric Carle. "Brown Bear Brown Bear What Do You See" has always tickled her funny bone. And now that she's a little bit older, she can repeat the words and pretty much read it to herself. It's fun for her and sooo cute to hear her tell the story!

2. What's your favorite children's book?  "On The Day You Were Born" by  Debra Fasier. I didn't discover it until my kids were born but everytime I read it, I get all weepy. It's a beautiful book because it instills within all of us how valuable and special we all are in this world. My other favorite is "Oh The Places You'll Go" by Dr. Suess. That's another one that delivers a fantastic message of hope and possibility for all of us!

3. What's your child's favorite thing to eat? For my oldest, it'd be french fries. My youngest would perfer anything chocolate. (I know, you can call me mother-of-the-year)

4. What's your favorite thing to eat? Ice Cream. Chocolate Chip. Always.

5. What's your child's favorite game? My oldest loves to play "Life" (the board game) and my youngest likes to play "Animals" which just means playing with her stuffed toys as my husband or I make up voices and personalities for each of them. She NEVER tires of it. EVER.

6. What's your favorite game? Well...Blog Tag, of course. : )

So, now I tag...Rachel Cook, Fumblingforwords, Rusha, DragonEgg, & hrs2004

So, the 5 of you listed, go on and answer these questions, post them on your blog, title it "Tag, I'm It" and then tag a few other members (and don't forget to email them letting them know you've tagged them)! ENJOY!

The Beautiful Build Up

Who knew that a photograph like this could spark a post like this? I guess it's been building up. You know, that my girls are growing up before my eyes. That Julia will be in the FOURTH grade (huh?) and Iris will begin preschool, FIVE DAYS A WEEK. Yes, I am thrilled. Finally time to myself. It's what I have been asking for. But that doesn't mean I'm not sad too.

If you want to know how I really feel about it all, check out what emotions blindsided me today when I was posting at Picture This. And grab a tissue.

Re-re-cap

I have so much to say about my weekend at BlogHer. But quite honestly, I''m getting weary of the topic. As I am absolutely positive, without a doubt, sure everyone else is too. I have thoughts and ideas and WORDS to articulate my experience but lack the energy to write them down. Terrible, I know.

Until I can get up my strength (IF I ever do), I''ll just have to carry on as usual leaving you with only images. And believe it or not, I actually posted them on Flickr despite my resistance. Those of you who know me, know I''m not the biggest fan of the Flickr. Don''t ask why, because, I don''t know. The only thing that comes to mind is that it doesn''t speak to me. That''s all I got. BUT, since there''s not much of an option, and I''m too tapped out to come up with something else, I put them there in a "set" called, what else, BlogHer ''06. Clever, aren''t I? Sheesh, I am tired.

by traceyComment Published at 20:1120:115 comments5 comments256 Visits256 VisitsReport

I had the most incredible weekend at BlogHer. Words can't even describe it. I met the lovely Mrs. Minti, Rachel Cook and let me go on record to say I SIMPLY ADORE HER!

Here're us the night of her 30th birthday (nothing incriminating, I promise)-

HAPPY BIRTHDAY RACH! Everything about you is wonderful!

And thanks again Minti. : ) It was a dream.

BlogHer Recap?

Who needs words when you have an image like this?

After a weekend spent surrounded by women like a Superhero (left) and Marathon Mom (right) I''m not sure words could possibly do it justice. Besides how can I formulate any thoughts when my head is still spinning? And even if it weren''t, my brain went to mush right about the time we started taking shots for Rachel''s 30th birthday (That''s the birthday girl on the right. Bottoms up)!

Oh boy. Do I need to say I had the time of my life?? It was indeed a weekend I''ll never forget. More details and pictures to come, I promise, so stay tuned.

Incriminating photo taken by the lovely Mommy Needs a Cocktail. What could be more perfect? Oh, and the one of Charlie''s Angels? That was by Grace''s husband. Thanks guys.
