i was uber mommy today. Brad (my husband) was out of town so had to do the full morning drill...waking the two boys up, begging them NOT to wake the baby (3 is hard), making breakfast and lunch, getting them dressed, trying to figure out whether they needed their teeth brushed or bagging it?! shoes ON and out... Henry LOST his scooter...the only way we could get to school...dragging both the kids to the school yard, while trying to remember what time I made the first meeting at the office...Getting to school LATE. Getting to Fischer's Bird Celebration on time only to remember I forgot to bring a class treat......So BLOWN away with the all the kid's creativity that I forgot about my meeting...remembered....raced out of class. Get to the office and the elevator is OUT. climb 4 flights of stairs....winded by the 2nd floor...pissed at my pathetic self I race up 2 more flights...reach the top and feel like a 90 yr old. Get to my desk to recieve a message that my fabric guy can't carry the fabric upstairs---so recruit the young bucks in my office and we all HAUL fabric up 4 flights of stairs. So that is the 1st few hours of my day. At 5:30 I race to Henry's family picnic (with nothing in tow as I've been to a few of these by now and the other really good moms usually do too much!) Arrive look for my 3 kids who could care less that I am there as they are involved in fuseball, ping pong and pool...total boy fantasy land. Unable to keep my eye on all of them, bond with the parents on the 2nd to last week of school, I left them up to their own devices...So Wesley proceeded to eat all the cookies he could sneak off the table, Henry was climbing all over the couches and Fischer had started a water fight... I was so fragmented, couldn't figure out if I should eat, chat with the teachers, meet the parents, or be a parent...I did nothing. Wesley left crying with an ice pack on his head (fell off a chair), Henry was nearly about to implode as he insisted on having a SLEEPOVER, and Fischer was ignoring us all.
Totally exhausted ...
So ready to run back to my office! |
