Missing mum's cooking

This what happened when you live in different country with your parent or the rest of family. Sometime, I missed my mum's cooking. No matter you grow older, this craving could always come (oh well at least to me). So, here I am, craving (but not pregnancy craving...LOL) of one of my mum's cooking. You could find anywhere at any restaurant that have the same taste. What do I do? Oh well....I just have to get the recipe from my lovely mother and try to cook it the best I could. Luckily, today I could get the taste. Not too bad for a person like me who never cooked while living with my mum ages ago. Now my own self...a mother to my two children and a wife to my husband...I just have to improvise .......... and be a cook.

Boy, I can relate with you on this one, Phio!  There is nothing better than mom's cooking!  Lucky for me, we don't live that far away and she loves to make extras so she sends home lots of goodies.  At least by "improvising," your kids will have the same feelings towards your cooking someday :)

Oh you so lucky. Last night I cooked Soto Ayam (chicken soup, Indonesian traditional style) used my mum's recipe. The taste turned quite well. We all enjoyed it, specially me and my husband who had been while didn't have it.
