I am 52 a bit old for this site but I have hadsome intersting and challenging things happen during my childrearing years,actually still have a 27 year old girl at home , who has been unwell and not out of home yet. My oldest is a son who lives in Darwin, Australia, he used drugs, stole from us, assaulted my husband who is a policeman, got into trouble with the law ,got himself into debt by unwise decisions.
My daughter has completed university, the first one in the family to do so, she waited until she was 20 before she knew what she wanted to do with her life, and,is now working at our biggest hospital in Accidetn & Emergency as a registered nurse. I was also a registered nurse but retired 6 years ago because of a back that had suffered enough.So I pop in here every now & then because we are over the worst hurdles ,and have a happy life at the moment, son is employed and working hard he is now 29. My experience might just help someone out there one day to say that there are many normal families (what is normal?) who also ebd up with kids using drugs. No magic potion we were involved in both parts of their cschooling weith the school and their sport and after hours events that kept them busy. |
