It's here!!

Well we leave tomorrow for Queensland - we leave at 5 in the morning. It is going to be fun. It still feels like there is so much to do, and unfortunately no-one to do it but me!  The boys are a bit stressy as they want to play and I simply don't have time today (probably why they want me to play).  I am only now, just having a quick time out (12noon) - and then it is back to making sure everything is done.  My mum and her partner are staying here for a few days while we're gone so I want to try and have everything clean and tidy for them too!! - oh well - must keep going.
Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy New year.  I won't see anyone until next year as we don't get back until then.

Take care everyone!!!!

Christmas success

by zjComment Published at 23:0723:070 comments0 comments61 Visits61 VisitsReport
Just got back from Christmas down my mums.  It went really well.  The local carols were a bit shocking but for a small coastal town, I guess they only have so many performers to choose from.  The boys were incredibly spoilt.  There are a few gifts they got which will be great for the trip in the car to QLD.  The eldest got a learn to read and write leap pad and the youngest got a mega sketcher / magnadoodle board.  That should keep them quiet for a while in the car.  The christmas cake I made was a success which is good.  All that brandy came to good use!!!  Well there are only 6 sleeps to go until we leave for christmas in QLD.  It should be fun, it is getting very exciting.

Going away for a few days down my mums for christmas. it should be good. It will be the main christmas for the boys with my side of the family. We are having dad over for dinner on Wednesday night, but it won't be as big as down mums.  Anyway, we leave a week tomorrow for Queensland.  it has gone way too quickly.

a proud day for mum

by zjComment Published at 21:5721:570 comments0 comments104 Visits104 VisitsReport
It was a proud day for this mum today. Both Sebastian & Cayden behaved amazingly well, during the hour long queue up to see Santa today.  I don't think there was once that I had to yell at them.  Because they behaved so well, leaving both myself and their father in a state of shock, we took them to Krispy Kreme for a donut and drink afterwards as a reward.  What made it more incredible for us, is that the oldest, Sebastian, has been sick.  Anyway, we then came home and Sebastian made me proud all over again, when he sat down with me to read two short stories about Poldy the scarecrow.  He read them and I only had to tell him a few words.  Even if it is just a really good memory, it shows recognition, none the less.  I am such a PROUD MUM today!!!

The tree is up!!

by zjComment Published at 01:4501:450 comments0 comments58 Visits58 VisitsReport
The christmas tree went up on the 1st December. They boys happily helped build the tree and put the lights on, but the decorations was another story.  They were so busy fighting with each other about who was going to put what decoration on the tree, that by the time they had finished, I was done!!  I have to admit - I did enjoy having the decorating to myself.  Anyway - next year we are going to get some cheaper ornaments for the tree.  We have all hallmark, and disney ornaments, that my husband and I have been collecting for years, they broke 2 of them in their fighting.  Thank fully we could fix them with a bit of super glue.   We don't have alot on the tree, but it still looks gorgeous to me.  It's amazing, how buying a bigger tree, makes the ornaments look scarce.  Anyway we've done icicle lights and candy cane lights out the front of the house.  I just love it.  I even made ginger bread biscuits!
