Ok, I was at my wits end having Myah (now 20mths) ALWAYS wanting to go through my wallet. So i found a little purse for her BUT this was not good enough. SOOOOOO........i came up with a brain wave!! Of course she wasn't going to like the purse, its not like
mummy's!!! Silly me...LOL...
So i went searching hi and low for one of my old wallets, i found an old wallet of mine that i kept for spares and i was even lucky enough to find an old wallet of daddy's!! I went through some of my old cards but they weren't really appropriate as alot had my full name on them, didn't want her to loose her wallet and have someone get one of my old cards, address...ect...
Myah loves Sesame Street and i remembered shopping in Big W one day and found a variety of Character playing cards. There were Dora, Thomas The Tank, Wiggles and some Sesame Street!!!!! So i grabbed a packet and came home to size them up for a wallet. Cut them down enough to fit into the slots, i also laminated them all with card size laminate slips. I also found some old reciepts and folded them up and placed them in there, just like mummy's!!
Myah absolutly loves her mummy and daddy wallets, she will sit for ages in her car seat and take the cards out, talk about her favorite ones and then putthem all in again. It has also taught her very good eye and hand co -orderation, she does it in a breeze now, she has also learnt how to use the zip!!
Another idea for some cards are the gift cards you can get at Big W, Target and KMart Stores, they are free to get but you need to put some money on them then use them straight away so you dont misplace the card as they are counted as money. yes, i lost a card and they couldn't replace it...LOL. We did this for a couple of Winnie The Pooh cards, placed $10 on a card and used it to buy some things we needed in the store, then handed it over to little girl for her mummy wallet!! I also laminated a few photo's that were wallet size for her to have in there as well.
So, i hope this comes in handy for those out there who has their wallets torn apart by their toddler EVERYTIME you leave it low! LOL.....let me know what you all think!!
