Music, Gadgets and Goodies

katiepiatt by katiepiatt Talking Back(August 2006) (rank 29th)
I'm a bit of a gadget-girl...or at least I'd like to be if my husband and kids would get their hands off my laptop, digital camera, ipod etc.

Anyway, I've just found the must-have gadget for new parents - the iCrib - attach your ipod to the cot/crib
and lull baby to sleep with whatever music you want, nightlight and timer etc all built in. Fantastic. (also, make sure you click the free mozart downloads link for some classical goodies for you little one).

My two boys love their music. Daddy takes them out in the bike trailer and has hooked up a speaker system in it fro his iPod so they get a good selection of stuff when they're out on their travels. It's really odd to hear my two-year old ask "is that Beethoven...?" when some classical stuff comes on. (He should ask Dad, I have no idea!).

I'm doing my best not to buy every high-tech gadget on the market for my kiddies, but you must admit it's tempting...

Gadgets are good
However, they never seem to last for long. Some of the gadgets I have bought include, mp3 players, 3 different mini vacuumes including a robot vacuum called Robomax who lasted 12 months before the battery died. Heaps of things with solar panels on them including a solar torch with radio. The Icrib sounds like a good idea and I would be aware of the volume level as it could damage their ears if it too high.

Uh oh. . . getting. . . pulled. . . in. . . can't. . .  resist. . .
I'm really bad about the gadgets myself. If it clicks, whirrs or is solar powered, I'm in real trouble :)

Music and babies

I can't believe that I have just been able to download a whole free album. Thanks very much! I must confess to being a bit of a gadget person myself, but I am not going to look at your link - I don't have the money to spend! I just want to say thank you for the music (the song I'm singing...)
