Rave for Robeez

rusha by rusha Talking Back(August 2006) (rank 148th)

My nine month old son won't keep anything on his feet. Somehow, he manages to kick off any shoes, socks or sandals that I put on his feet. Nothing ever stays on. Now that he is learning to walk around the house, and often outside, he is beginning to need

something. But what?

I looked around many a shoe store and couldn't find anything that I liked. It seemed like no matter what I tried on him, it would be off in just a few mintues. Finally, a fellow mom and friend told me that she used Robeez when her children were learning to walk. I had no idea what Robeez were, so I decided to look them up on the internet to see what I could find.

Doctors recommend Robeez for the early walking stages, bexause the flexible, soft soled shoes as the next best thing to bare feet. Well, that is good news. I don't know about you, but as a new parent, I am a sucker for buying things that are recommended by medical professionals. I don't know why...maybe because I trust and respect them, so I see anything they reccomend as being worth a try.

They slip on and stay on, thanks to a strong yet supple elasticized ankle band. Excellent! Just what I am looking for. Although, I must admit, I bought a pair for my son and there are days when he is able to get them off his feet...but let's be honest, he's a mini Houdini when it comes to footwear, diapers and hats.

Easily kept looking fresh and bright with periodic washing. I tested this theory many a times, and it proves to be true. My son is a habitual spitter, and it seems to get on everything. I have had to wash his Robeez a few times, and they always look like they are new. Who would know I've washed them three dozen times since I purchased them only four months ago? A bonus: they also dry fast!

The quality leather and a lined upper make Robeez durable enough to stand up well to both washing machines and the toughest of toddlers. Okay, I haven't tested the washing machine theory yet, and I don't have a toddler. But when I do, you bet he will be one of the tough ones...so stand on guard, I will keep you posted.

The soft leather cushions and protects, flexes with each step; and is breathable to keep feet cool and comfy. I know I am not the one wearing them, but I have noticed that they make his feet sweat less than say, his sneakers do.

The textured suede sole prevents slipping. It's true, we have some carpeted floors and some tiled, and he doesn't seem to have a problem with skidding on either surface.

So..that is what I came up with. It was enough to make me buy a pair or two. Okay, two...and they have been so useful. I don't know why I bothered with shoes, these seem to be all that he will wear. Or, at least all that he will keep on. And best of all is Robeez come in many sizes and with different colours and designs to suit your boy or girl. Why not try a pair?

Price: $28.00 Canadian

Sizes: 0/6 months, 6-12 months, 12-18 months, 18-24 months, 2-3 years, and 3-4 years.

Robeez
i used robeez for my twins up to the summer. My mom bought them each a pair of robeez boot slippers for christmas last year. They are all leather with a fur inside. we went through alot of booties and slippers before this. They stayed on their feet. These ones were very stylish. i got alot of compliments on these. We had a brown pair and a blue pair. I highly recommend them!!

Gread advice
I heard about the Robeez but I have never tired them. My 5 month old daughter, don't like to have socks, shoes or even her slippers on her feet either. So maybe when I buy these, they might work for her, lol.
Great advice, thanks :)

Great Advice...
I like how you used your own personal review comments under each heading...nice touch.  I have spent a small fortune on useless footwear too!  Never tried those but might be worth a try since I know they're working for you now!
