Head Lice

DebbiePalmer by DebbiePalmer In Nappies(November 2008) (rank 500+)

When my children had head lice I got a comb from the chemist that gives an eletric shock. so as you comb your childrens hair the comb shocks the head lice and kills them. it does not shock your children and will not shock you if you touch the prongs

of the comb. it gives off a high whistle and when it stops you know you have killed head lice all you do is brush it clean and start again. i found it to be very good and best of all no chemicals on your children. you can get them from any chemist and the cost is affordable.

Re: Head Lice

Hi there,

I have a few friends that have these electric combs and whilst one says its fina another doesn't . .  Thanks for sharing with everyone but my advice it to stick to the cheaper methods as these combs can be quite expensive and from what I've heard there really isn't any guarantee.

Cheers Kellz

Re: Head Lice

A cheap easy way to remove lice and eggs is to use conditionioner and a fine lice comb, the conditioner stops the lice from running and untangles the hair ,so the comb doesnt pull and the child hopefully wont scream,       tea tree oil is also a good deterent.

Re: Head Lice

I have heard of this product and it does work on 98% of the children who have got headlice. Once you use this, it's guaranteed that the headlice won't come back, and that it kills the eggs aswell.

I hadn't heard of such a product... Are you able to elaborate and tell us what the name of the product is and where we can find out more details in regard to it's effectiveness etc?
