Pregnant and a little scared

oldgirl by oldgirl Crawling(November 2008) (rank 500+)

This seems more like a question than an article so I couldn't rate it. Honey try not to worry so much about the birth of your baby. No one can really predict what will happen but worrying about what might happen during the birth will only spoil the time you

have waiting for the birth. Try to concentrate your mind on happy thoughts. I am sure your baby will be wonderful so plan for her arrival at home and try not to think of the process of childbirth too much.
The doctors and nurses are there to help.

As for people wondering if you will let them babysit for you. That will be entirely up to you. If you feel you need help to babysit so that you can have some time to yourself then by all means do so after some time has elapsed. If you are concerned about being overprotective this is a fear response like before. Guard against it. Don't allow fear to take over and spoil the pleasure your little one will give you.

Have a great pregnance and a great life with your new little girl. Hope all goes well for you both!

Re: Pregnant and a little scared

Of course a certain amount of worry is very normal during pregnancy, especially if it is the first. There are a lot of changes happening and it's scary. A certain amount of worry is good, in that it helps women prepare for what is to come both physically and mentally. Where it starts to become too much is when women get consumed with too many "what if" thoughts.  I must confess that once I found out I was pregnanct with my twins, the unknown started eating me alive. Every time I went to my ultrasound (and I had many - over 10 since it was a high-risk pregnancy), I was met with something to worry about. But I used the fear of the unknown as a drive to find out what I can by reading materials. After finding out whatever I could, I then just "let it be". The best I could do was live in the now and kept myself healthy and rested.
