Inexpensive Toy Storage!!! |

Toys! Toys! Toys! They were everywhere! My 6 year old is wonderful about putting her toys away after playing with them, but my two year old...not so good. But then I noticed at church one day that he was putting away all the toys he had been playing with.
I thought to myself, OK, I he knows how to put toys away, he just won't do it at home. Then I noticed that the church had put pictures of the toys on the shelf in which the toy belonged. I thought "What a great idea!"
So here is my toy storage solution, and it has worked great! Go to the nearest liquor store and take all the empty wine boxes that they will let you have or that you think you will need. Wine boxes work well because they are not HUGE and are usually made out of decent cardboard. They sometimes still have the dividers in them - keep those too, you may find a use for them in this project. Reinforce the box with clear packing tape. Cover the box with decorative contact paper (that plastic-y paper that is usually with the shelf paper at the store) or use a good thick wrapping paper. Take pictures of the toys that you want stored in each box and tape or glue the picture on the box. This way your child knows where his/her toys go when they are through playing with them. You can leave the dividers in or take them out - depending on what you want to store in each box.
This is such an inexpensive way to store toys and it looks really cute and organized. My son enjoys putting his toys away and even notices if something is put into the wrong box and puts it in the correct one.
I have had friends come over and ask where I bought such cute storage boxes. They could not believe that I made them out of cardboard boxes and contact paper. I hope this works for all of you as well as it has for me. Much LOVE!!
