Question:
hi there everyone....i think my 2 1/2 year old daughter might have a UTI(urinary tract infection) she was just fine thismorning, she used the potty 3 times and was fine. then i put her down
for her nap and after she woke i asked my 12 year old daughter to change her out of diaper. when my older daughter wiped her with a wipe she started to cry. weird i thought....well i put a pull-up on her because we were going out. but she started to cry and hold herself? do you think she could have an infection? can it start hurting so bad so quickly? she seems to cry when she is going pee...
what do u think it could bee
My Advice:
Hi, already feel for your little girl. I've had UTI all my life since I was 12 and it is nasty!!!. I agree with the other comments, if you are very worried see a GP, but I've got some quick fix to help her out straight away. First (and it may sound weird) if you are able to get her to do it, ask her to tell you when she needs to go to the toilet. If she does, get some warm water in a jug and pour it (down genitals) as she is trying to go; this should help out with stinging as she's going. Get her to drink lots of water, and preferably cranberry juice (sugar free is nasty so normal one is fine). For adults there is stuff like ural (mix it in water) that you can get over counter, read instructions, if recommended 4 children I would use it; ural and creanberry juice have been my Godsends every time I get UTI. By all means, if she does have a temp. or doesn't get better in a couple of days pls see doctor.
Wish you all the best!!!
P.S; Yes, it can start hurting out of nowhere. Normally it starts gradually, but I've had an episode where I was standing in line at the bank and out of the blue I got this burning sensation, I thought I was going to pass out!!
