comfort in pregnancy [third trimester]

karleigh by karleigh Standing(November 2008) (rank 500+)

My first pregnancy [girl]  was so comfortable i was fine but my second pregnancy[ boy]  has been the most uncomfortable time of my life so here are a few things i have tried and im much more  comfortable.

First of all if you can bend over in the

shower with the water pressure right at the bottom of your spine and blast the water on high and just stay there until its numb and when you get out of the shower you will feel like your floating for a while it feels really good.

Instead of sleeping with a pillow in between your legs lay down flat on your back and put a pillow underneath you on the ridge of your back and only have that pillow not one behind your head just behind your back.

put your feet up whenever possible i no that everyone says this but i really mean WHENEVER POSSIBLE even if its for thirty seconds an hour it will all help at the end of the night with sleeping and with those leg cramps every second counts.

Baths are great but just beware of how long you stay in there as your leg cramps can become worse if you lay in  water for to long.

Lastly, be naked whenever possible with no clothes around your belly you will feel so much better.

I no that every pregnancy is different and some of this might not work on others but they all work for me so give them a go and you might be suprised.

Re: comfort in pregnancy [third trimester]

Great ideas.

My last pregnancy rocked! Even til the day of birth (42weeks). Had mild back ache and baths helped a lot (and I am not a bath person though I had a water birth!). J was heaviest baby but I must have been all baby.

My other pregnancies not so comfy. My second was most uncomfortable.

Re: comfort in pregnancy [third trimester]

that must;ve been terrible. i had a twin pregnancy, never had a day of morning sickness, no cramps, no backache, not even labour pain. i was in an accident when i was pregnant, fracturing 3 ribs, but it was numb, due to the pressure of the babies in my womb. i was already 3cm open & in active labour, but couldnt feel a thing, just had a normal check up, dr had to feel when i had contractions. i even slept and woke up just in time to give birth, to 2 quiet babies, who appeared thumb in the mouth! i admire u for your strength.
