Re: Coffee While Pregnant???
Asked by Vampy

Question:

Is it ok to drink coffee while pregnant and if so how much?????

My Advice:

There are several articals and different answers to this question.

But it all depends

on how much you do drink.

To much caffiene is never good for any body.

I have 2 cups of coffee each day and did with all 3 of my pregnancy's.

i actually seeked medical advice about this from my doctor.

unless you exceed 4 cups a day there are no proven side effects to you or your baby.

hope this helps you all.

I have always drank a lot of coffee through the day and one before i go to bed when i was expecting i tried drinking decafe its ok but ended up drinking normal coffee again i cut down a little too. i dont think there is any real evidence to prove that it can definatly harm ur baby, i asked my dr and was told if i cant cut it out to just cut down on the quanity.

Before getting pregnant. I was drinking at least 10 cups of coffee a day.  A real caffine addict.  When I found out I was pregnant, I actually made a conscious effort to cut back.  I probably halved my intake and it didn't have any adverse effects on me or my baby.  It is probably best if you are not a real caffine freak to drink as little as possible.

well, i love coffee, but when i was pregnant with my twins i had to cut down, especially since i had problems with my heart as well. my boss' wife decide to buy caffeine free coffee for the office, as i had caffeine free tea, but craved that coffee taste. i ended up liking the cafeine free coffee so much more. as with everything good in life,  can enjoy it, but everything has a limit. so enjoy, but in moderation

Know a little? Give an answer Write Advice Know a lot? Write some advice

Helping someone in Q&A?  The options are to either click on 'Know a little' and add your comment, point of view or experience, or to click on 'Know a lot' and write some advice.  I know this can be a little confusing if you are new to the site, and it can be a dilemna even if you're not.

Many great advice articles come from answering questions in Q&A, however for a comment, point of view or experience to be well received (and rated) as advice, it is usually best to expand upon your idea, and write it in an article form.

The best article on how to write great advice is called Writing Great Advice Articles That Will Help Us All - by Izzy.  I highly recommend reading this, especially if you are disappointed about any feedback on your advice.  Remember that you can always go back and edit your advice any time, and continually add more information, research and links to other resources to value add to your own article.
