Kids and restaurants

Re: Dealing with Young Kids at a restaurant
Asked by mikedan

Question:

What is the best way

My Advice:

My advice would be to set firm boundaries from the start, at home don't allow kids to be disruptive

at meal times, get them use to lots of different types of food so as not to be prone to being picky eaters, teach them to respect others etc.

With little kids, be practical, don't try and take them out to big flash restaurants with lots of adults and expect them to sit silently throughout the whole meal (that's just unrealistic). Older kids, have activities, books, toys to keep them busy. Finally, don't set yourself up for failure and or disappointment by having your expectations too high - after all they are kids not adults!!

as long as u dont let them eat spaghetti in public, they shoud be fine  i agree with u 100%. children will behave the way u teach them at home. if they are not allowed to do certain things at home, chances are they wont try it in public. although u get the odd rebel or 2

Re: Kids and restaurants

Certainly some good tips... Especially by maintaining good table manners and eating habits at ALL times, not only when you are dining out.
