Teen Mum - My Story Part 2 |

In my first advice on being a Teen mum I talked about my parents reactions and my own reaction to the idea of becoming a mum. I thought I needed to write a second part about where I am at now with my life as a MUM!
Once
my baby was born my parents fears / thoughts about not wanting me to be a "teen" mum flew out the door and it was replaced by absolute love and adoration for their first grandchild!
Everyone was so proud of me and gave me words of encouragement. They were proud that I stuck to breastfeeding even when it made me cry, they watched their daughter change from this outta control teen to a caring selfless doting and maybe a little over protective (lol) mum!
In the first year of my daughters life I got looks from strangers and the occasional tut tut from the older generation. I just kept reminding my self that there are older mums who do badly as well as young mums and age doesnt mean anhything, knowledge does! I also lost all my school friends, as they went on to do year 11 and 12 I was at home being a mum, I had no interest in clubbing or parties, so the more I declined invites from my friends the less they invited me and eventually I had no friends from school. I did make new friends tho from playgroup and mums group, being friends with other mums was much easier as they understood if i was late to meet for coffee cos bub decided to vomit on me as i walked out the door hahahaha.
7 years later I now have 3 absolutly adorable children, they are my life.
When I was asked what I wanted to be when I grew up I never imagined that I would have such an important job, being a mum!
No its not ideal to fall pregnant at such a young age, but if it happens make the most of the blessing you have been given, be the best mum you can be for your child and for your self!
