Re: Endometriosis

Question:

I just wanted to hear froms ome people who suffer with this condition. My doctor thinks it could be a possibility for me. Its the last thing he thinks but he needs it checked.

How

is it diagnosed?? Ive had a CT scan and pelvic ultrasound, would that have picked it up?? My periods are normal and alwys on time, they last 5days and are heavy the first 2days.Period pain has always been painful for me.

Does it sound like i have it? I dont think so.

My Advice:

Hey Dannii,

I have endo . As you know it took me forever to get aa diagnosis . I had pelvic ultrasounds , internal ultrasounds right down to an MRI scan.

In the pelvic and vaginal ultrasounds the found this cyst on my right ovary with a white halo around it. From there i was scanned regular and finally after alot of hassle. got an MRI scan which they didnt really want to do but they had no choice in the end. But if you could get one i would highly reccomend it . I wqas petrified about it but the answers were worth it .

Mind you if its a tiny ammount of endo it may not show on ultrasound. But on a few scans before i went to see the gynae they said the cyst had gone . Another way is by laprascopy which i am having on wednesday (yippee ) that is basically where they cut your tummy a little in 2 places around your belly button and they put a camera in there they can see properly.

My periods well they are nowhere near normal REALLY  heavy kin te bathroom every 30 mins heavy lol. Plus they are allo ver the shop always late and half the time i wont have a period at allon the outside anyway . I seem to be having periods in my right ovary also. They are very very painful like i am being stabbed in hte bottom of my stomach constantly . Also i get real bad backache. I get real fat too.

To me it doesent sound like you have endo but every woman is differant and im not a doctor so listen to what your doctor says and follow his orders.

Goodluck i hope you find out whats going on with you soon .

Luv Emz xxx

Re: Endo

They say that having children is supposed to help with it too, or so I have heard.  I was told I had it a few years back, until it was discovered I had a uterus that is tilted more backwards than normal.

Re: Endo

hi there i was wondering if you could explain to me about the tilting of the uterus..   i have endo and had have approx 6 operations to remove it,  and then when i was pregnant they mentioned that my uterus tilts backwards towards the spine, i really did not think anything of it  at the time, but im thinking it could explain a few things. what & when is the pain present for you.   i know  this question may not make sense at all.  but could you please explain as much about it as you can...
