Mums uses for icecream containers |

Hey mums, don’t throw out your empty ice-cream containers. They have many uses once the ice-cream is all gone. Try these:
VOMIT
I keep an ice-cream container under each of my kids beds, ready to catch those middle of the
night spews when they are not feeling well. Take the container and the lid with you to the doctors, if you have to take a vomiting child.
SCHOOL FETE
Use the containers to store cakes and biscuits for your child’s school event (obviously don’t use the same container that has been vomited into….yuk). Then it wont matter if the container gets left behind- its not really your best Tupperware now, is it?
BUG CATCHING
Does your son (or daughter- don’t mean to be sexist) need a home for his worms and beetles. A bit of dirt in the bottom and some holes in the lid and that bug collection will feel right at home!
PAINTING
I have found that ice-cream container lids are great when used as a paint palate. They are sturdy enough to hold the moisture of the paints (sometimes paper plates can go a bit soggy). And they can be thrown out if you can’t be bothered washing them.
TOY STORAGE
Have you ever noticed how many toys you have that have so many little pieces that go with them (how I hate toys with many pieces!). Group these bitsy toys into separate containers. They can also be decorated for easy identification.
CLEANING
How mean am I? I gave my kids a container of warm soapy water and a sponge and they had heaps of fun helping me clean dirty marks off the floor- granted, the entire buckets of water ended up spilled on the floor by the end, but the floor was clean and they were entertained for a while.
CRAFT
You only need to watch playschool a few times to see the sorts of clever things that can be done with an ice-cream container.
